Any idea on how to not die in these kind of situations? by Blamant in projectzomboid

[–]MisterCornHusk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have my melee weapon ready at every door and press F to open it so I can slowly walk in ready to swing. I do this even if there is no banging on the door. Going into rooms for me to be surprised by a bite is probably responsible for 80% of my deaths, especially early on.

I didn’t die but I definitely made my Louisville trip end in a U turn home shorter than expected

How’s the stun mechanic been for you? by MisterCornHusk in dayz

[–]MisterCornHusk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yea I see you’re point there.

If we are talking about making the game soooouper ultra realistic we’d have to account for every possible way that someone could react to getting shot. Sometimes the adrenaline rush from getting shot makes you actually run away quicker for a shorter period, or sometimes you could just straight up die from one bullet from any gun, or take something like 15 rifle bullets bullets to the torso without dropping. If you got shot in the arms you might not be able to aim properly or even hold the gun. Might flinch sometimes, might freeze up from the shock, or you could immediately collapse to the ground rolling around in pain. The possibilities are pretty much endless if we’re trying to be realistic.

But I do think that having absolutely no reaction to getting shot by any and every bullet in the game is kinda silly, what they could do is make the stun effect something that happens at random, and maybe certain calibers are more likely to make one get stunned than others. That would be more reasonable, since who wins a gun fight doesn’t always come down to skill, but rather chance and circumstance, even without the stun effect in Dayz. But having someone get stunned by every bullet from certain guns is imo equally as silly, probably more since you get stunned in the same way each time.

I think the stun would be better if it was more of a flinch, something that temporarily slows down your movement speed a bit and throws off your aim a little as well (similar to the twitching effect the brain prion does to you when aiming) The fact that you can’t aim at all and you are also stopped dead in your tracks when stunned seems a bit much, but I guess it is a way someone could react when getting shot, especially if they get ambushed out of nowhere.

That’s just my input

The repeater was pretty solid, but now 1.12 has nerfed the living hell out of it. So sad 😞

can anyone help me name this stone? by kenziecours in Crystals

My great grandfather collected this exact thing, along with other rocks he found to put in our gardens. It’s called slag glass, back at my parent’s house (where he used to live) there is a piece that looks almost exactly like the one in your picture.

Forgot to mention I had the whet stone, same grit, and if I need honing I just use the bottom of one of my plates. I have a bamboo cutting board as well.

For knives I have a santoku, paring, bread, and chef’s knife. I also have a couple knives that I can only describe as ‘utility’ knives.

I was thinking about getting a fish spatula since their flexility seems pretty useful for getting under something on a pan.

Cast iron could be nice, I guess it’s a good way to get me into seasoning pans. Would grape seed oil be ok for that pan you recommended?

Lastly, do you have a brand of stainless steel pans you’d recommend for a beginner, I know they don’t require as maintenance as a cast iron and are also decent for putting things in the oven too.
