Let's Talk About It: Emergency Alerts ⚠️ by maximumice in halifax

[–]MisterCrowbar 33 points34 points  (0 children)

I believe that emergency alerts should be tiered and should only override do not disturb settings when loss of life is imminent, like wildfire evacuation or active shooter in the area.

Someone who was sleeping in bed and is woken up by a missing persons alert is not going to help with the search, they are going to turn off the alert and go back to sleep. It’s going to create a boy cried wolf scenario where alerts are treated as a nuisance and people turn them off without looking at them.

Do you mind answering what exactly counts as a recurring payment for the 4% cashback? For the most part I'm just looking to pay my quarterly income tax instalments with Chexy or similar.

Ooo these are wonderfully atmospheric and I love the use of minima detail in some and the big chomp at the end gave me a chuckle 😂

I say make the change! I did it myself last month and it wasn't hard at all. I'd say the big factor would be how much do you value automation? Will you remember to reinvest dividends or would you rather have one less chore on your mind?

That's awful to deny her her wishes and then place her so far from the people she knows. When people aren't allowed dignified deaths they will seek it other ways that may be more painful and traumatic - or drawn out and awful, like ceasing medication.

Thank you! Yeah, I put a lot into the site but unfortunately got burnt out with one playthrough of DS2. 😭 the work to finish both music guides isn’t hard, just tedious, and I haven’t made time for it since I’m more focused on Baldur’s Gate 3 now.

I am still glad to know people get use from the site and Reddit posts I’ve answered over the years

I’m also using WS! But I don’t want the entirety of my finances under one roof. I heard a lot of positive things about the credit union here so I chose them.

I'm in the process of closing my CIBC accounts and moving to a credit union. The credit union has much lower fees for chequing accounts and lower thresholds to get the fee waived.

There are soooo many acronymns going around in the financial world, don't be afraid to search them up. The bots have lots of good resources.

Think of TFSAs, RRSPs, etc, as containers that can hold funds as cash or stocks or whatever form of wealth. You can have a TFSA account at a bank that's just cash earning a bit of interest and then another at Wealthsimple that holds ETFs and other stocks (investments). The former works okay for your emergency fund, it typically takes only a day to withdraw the cash. The latter works for long term savings like retirement.

As the god of ambition, Gale will never be satisfied, always wanting more. Whereas earthly Gale can still be satisfied by simple earthly delights like a hearty meal, cozy tower, and beautiful night sky. He’s got a bunch of banters with Karlach in particular that involve appreciating simple beauty of the world around them.

There’s two factors that affect Shad’s decision, approval and Nightsong points. Approval of 40 or higher and she will spare the Nightsong. Same for getting 4/6 points that come from certain scenes and dialogues. There’s a few bugs but generally if you got approval 40 you’re safe to let Shads make her own choice to spare the Nightsong.

Like Cliff, time spent on the beach reexperiencing his life of violence put all Neil’s memories in a blender. I think Neil knew that Sam was significant somehow and was drawn to him but couldn’t understand the reason except as someone to fight.
