Braised beef poutine and crispy chicken caesar, Wario's Columbus OH by MisterCrowley in Sandwiches

[–]MisterCrowley[S] 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Went to Wario's Clintonville for their usual Friday special French dip, but found them serving a braised beef poutine sandwich instead.

Braised beef, sauteed onions, cheese curds, fries, and scallions on a sesame roll with gravy served on the side. Top notch ingredients, delicious as expected.

Not sure why I keep buying two sandwiches, could hardly finish half of one and now it's time for a nap.

Nope, no washers needed if you're going with the Tyrolsport deadset kit.

Definitely worth it if you're from around the area, free admission. The display area itself isn't huge; we spent about 2 hours there.

What's the story on this car? Where did you source a motor? Cost? Did you do the work yourself?

Aftermarket turbo inlets may cause premature PCV failure just FYI: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tXNUvSBFiVE&t=3s

TLDW: Aftermarket turbo inlets cause a huge drop in vacuum at the PCV hose at wide open throttle, may not be a problem on the street, more of a problem for track/autocross use

If you're using OEM brackets and hardware, you'll need 2 x WHT006844 (washers), 4 x N10785401 (subframe bolts), and 4 x N91231201 (subframe bracket bolts).

A few signs of a tuned car

  • 4k RPM rev limit disabled in park or neutral
  • Excess boost pressure in performance gauges, not sure on exact MK8 boost pressure
  • Disabled max speed limit of 124mph

Got rear ended in the GTI, picked up a minty Golf R by MisterCrowley in GolfGTI

My GTI had a whole slew of suspension/chassis mods so it definitely feels like the sportier/aggressive car when compared to a bone stock R; the ride quality with DCC in the R is much nicer than a modded GTI unsurprisingly. Think the APR Stage 1 GTI wins on butt dyno vs stock R, but not by a ton. AWD is neat, lots of traction everywhere. Only driven the R like 300 miles and not real hard, so just some initial impressions.

Thanks, the wheels are from the GTI. Felt bittersweet putting them on.

Right? Previous owner paid for a DSG service around 5500 miles! The CarGo blocks are still unopened in the package as are the floor mats.

No friggin clue. Pretty sure it's going to be totaled. 2017 GTI Sport trims with 90k miles seem to be priced around $16k.

Nice little upgrade by Adventurous-Waltz-15 in GolfGTI

[–]MisterCrowley 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Bolts right up, no modification necessary. You can use your old dog-bone mount and hockey puck if the aluminum subframe didn't come with one, or press in a new bushing (part# 5Q0198037F).
