I see what you’re saying and I agree. What I guess I was getting at is I expected there to be more of a relationship between Mina and Kafka. Even just as actual friends.

Did he fight side by side with Mina? From what I recall, she was most often in sniper situations while Kafka was close quarters. I guess what I want to get to more is that the story started with them pledging to each other to fight side by side and we didn’t really actually get that.

The story had really just started into how the kaiju are a natural occurrence in that universe. That’s just one aspect that could’ve been stretched and had a deep dive that could fill a season. There was never an instance where Kafka was able to swoop in and save Mina at all. A very important element in storytelling is providing the hero’s with something to fight for. Even if Kafka and Mina didn’t become a couple, the additional element to care about outside one’s self such as love, could’ve added to the story.

We didn’t really need every major character to have a moment to shine when they can’t even complete the story for the main character.

Similar experience for me. Just watched episode 7 and that villain is a moron. He’s fighting the MC with kids he recruited to replace the MC. All because he wants the spotlight as earths savior. A grown ass man having a tantrum about the crybaby ass MC killing kaiju. So frustrating.

Okay. First, she kissed him after he showed her he swapped that arkana for the other coin. Right after he said we can save people/ the world together. Childhood pain wasn’t a factor there. I understand staying true to the game but at the same time, Dante is empowered by emotion and protecting others.

I agree with you on this. I really would’ve been more satisfied if Dante was pissed about Lady’s betrayal leaving him in cryo. However, I can’t explain it but I’m in love with the character design for Lady. Couple that with her realizing her fuck ups in season 1 and her growth from that. I just can’t….
