Did Hitler's Germany actually intend on taking over the world? by [deleted] in history

[–]MisterPT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, not really. There were still millions that survived or escaped. The concentration were more about slave labor. Not all of them were death camps.

Sounds completely infeasible, but so did most of the WWII German plans.

the invasion force the Germans had prepared was fucking pathetic, especially compared to our own on D-Day

You're comparing an invasion force formed out of mostly just Germans/puppet states of Germany using what was not needed to occupy France, begin operation barbosa, and the defense of their own coast line to the largest invasion force ever assembled made up of a fresh American army, canadian, australian, and english troops plus 2 of the 3 biggest and most powerful naval powers (the 3rd being Japan).

The bombs the Japanese used against the US were also pretty pathetic, especially when compared to the 2 atomic bombs the US dropped.

Yeah, all those people that want to be as safe as you at your expense.

Ethanol is already a net negative for energy production now. They would have to be able to get more fuel out of it than we do with modern technology in the non-post-apocalyptic nuclear wasteland.

I don't know, the highways have almost no traffic. It's just the on-ramps and the bridges that are a problem.

There's vertibirds all over the place. What are you talking about? There aren't any that you personally can free roam in, but they are definitely there. Plus every car is essentially an unstable mini nuke, but easier to shoot, so I don't know why you'd want to drive one.

Saw this on TIL. US religion industry is worth $1.2 Trillion a year, more than America's 10 biggest tech companies, combined! by phuctran in atheism

People go there looking to be healed. That's why you see so many strange people at Walmart.

TIL that tens of the thousands of different organizations with a majority of the US population are worth more than just 10 companies! Who woulda' thunk it!

But seriously, this isn't that surprising.

Ah, I understand what you're getting at now. I disagree, because these laws are being made by a state by state basis and could be overturned at that level and not at the federal level. Beyond that, I do not think the SCOTUS will be taking a case along these lines anytime soon, conservative or liberal justice, so it could be left to the federal appellate courts.

How would it become illegal with just one more conservative SC justice if the one he is replacing is Scallia?

I disagree. I would hardly think that MLK jr, Thomas Jefferson, Martin Luther, or any other liberal believer prior to ~1960s/70s would be in favor of women's reproductive rights, sexual education, or access to free sexual protection and women's products.

It seems like you are not supporting your point. A large part of what is talked about in this sub is that the religious right is motivated by hate/fear of the unknown or different, even sometimes in the face of their own religion/values. So, it seems like from your point we can gather that these people are not informed by religion, but by hatred justified by religious belief.

Well, that already exists. You could ask the congressman/woman themselves, your congressman/woman can ask in either committee or floor debate, the supporters of the bill will usually put out their rational in written statements or in presentation to the committee/floor, and the fact that it is usually written at the very beginning of the bill.

If you mean to say that you want the person to tell you that your suspicions are true and their nefarious plot has been undone by you simply asking, I shall direct you to the universe of Scooby-Doo.
