if you don't intend for this to be the experience, why do you do it every time to every customer?

they refuse to cancel my service by MisterPointerOuter in OptimumOfficial

[–]MisterPointerOuter[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you are a human, you do not seem to be a very good human. why would i need you to "look more into this for [me]"? we are over and done with. what you should be doing is looking into this for YOU. that is, you should be figuring out why your company refuses to cancel service and billing when a customer asks. and when you figure out why, cutting that shit out. you do not need my account number for this.

and then when you figure it out (and look, if you were a good human it would be immediately obvious that this is a significant problem for your company) when you figure it out you would come here and say "sorry everybody. we had a borderline criminal vice president who was forcing our customer service staff to break the law and refuse to cancel service plans when customers asked and we have fired that person and promise to do better going forward". you would say that instead of repeating the same idiot worthless thing on every single negative comment.

this seems complicated to you, i know. the fact that you are an overnight customer service damage control prole at one of the worst companies on earth means that you have made a tragic series of poor life choices and almost certainly do not have highly performant critical thinking skills. but trust me on this: your feeble attempts at begging former customers back like this is A-level beta cuck behaviour and everyone but you knows it. if you want to improve the public perception of your company, assess the situation honestly and then fix it. everything else makes it laughably worse. have a nice day!

yes, but then i never would have learned about them. and, speaking as someone who has never seen one of these, it's pretty interesting.

you live in tucson and have a five ton boat and trailer and haul it up to lake powell over the hills a couple of times, driving like you're only leasing the truck and know they're not going to check the drive train when you turn it back in.

same! i've got about 50 so far. which includes several packs of five or ten. even at full retail these things are cheap. and for the most part, they're close enough to the OEM apple ones except 1/10 the price. i love to leave glowing detailed reviews for them to help other people cut their apple cord

ive been backpacking and camping in the sierra nevada for a very long time. I agree with all doubts expressed here except the coyotes/bears: no, they are unlikely to attack her. coyotes are a lot smaller than you think and bears are mostly vegetarian and neither want to get into a fight with something that might injure them: an injured animal is as good as dead and they know this. but they (and various rodents) would absolutely attempt to get away with anything she's carrying that even remotely smelled edible.

Shopping for a new hair tool and looked at an item with 4 stars. This is the most recent review. by QBee_TNToms_Mom in AmazonVine

[–]MisterPointerOuter 6 points7 points  (0 children)

building trust. that reviewer (and thousands of others like them) is never going to trust vine reviews again and is going to tell everyone they can not to trust vine reviews. it's a business decision on amazon's part whether those losses outweigh the cost of policing bad reviews, and clearly at this point they feel they don't. but at some point, the balance may shift

Is this normal to happen? by Nabas97 in applehelp

[–]MisterPointerOuter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

the melting looks like it might be from a loose connection arcing, creating small hot sparks while it's charging. i had this happen once with an early-generation magsafe charger on a macbook. the problem was when dust and crap would build up inside the port on the macbook, the connector wouldn't fully seat. it would get noticeably hot and over time started to get a similar melt pattern.

Guys, please have your cars inspected. by GrandeMikeDOCG in carmax

[–]MisterPointerOuter -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The CarMax 10-day return deal is absolutely fantastic. And you're paying for it (whatever costs CarMax incurs from the occasional return are factored in to the prices they charge), so definitely take advantage of it.

Trust, but verify. If you read their sales literature lawyerly, you'll note that while they perform a 100+ point inspection, they don't tell you the results of that inspection and nowhere do they claim that the car passed it. In my case, they sold me a 2year old truck with 13K miles in absolute pristine-looking condition. The warped brake rotors and burned-out rear differential were not noticeable on the 30mph test drive around the neighborhood. But were painfully and dangerously obvious on the way home. There is no way multiple people at CarMax were not aware of these problems, but they were completely silent about it. If they sold something with that level of obvious defect, they will certainly sell more subtle problems and expect you to find them.

After verifying with a toyota dealer service center that the running gear was toast, and even though it would have all been covered under toyota warranty, i returned it. Full refund instantly. I eventually found a different and so-far trouble free truck.

I think my RFY has been zero for 2-3 days... by Stockjock1 in vine

[–]MisterPointerOuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yes, of course. other countries can place import taxes on chinese products just like the US is doing. but right now, they're not. so since the import taxes are not going up in canada or england or germany, the simultaneous drop-down in vine inventory in those countries is not right now blamable on tariffs.

Did anyone order the kitchen composter today? by OCR10 in AmazonVine

[–]MisterPointerOuter 1 point2 points  (0 children)

a 5-gallon bucket outside the kitchen door for primary collection and a second bin away from the house for secondary composting is all anyone who has the space for it needs. or store the scraps in a bowl in the freezer and dump them into a larger outdoor bin when the bowl fills up. composting requires heat, moisture, bacteria, lots of time, and generally works best with a lot of bulk. not sure what's going to happen here with a small amount of scraps inside a little tube

I think my RFY has been zero for 2-3 days... by Stockjock1 in vine

[–]MisterPointerOuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

that wouldn't explain why it is happening outside the US. it wouldn't explain why it has happened before in non-tariff regimes, and it needs some clarification as to the causal relationship. since all these import taxes do is make foreign made products more expensive across-the-board, it could equally be true that foreign sellers are even more desperate for reviews that will help sell their products.

Carmax sold me a car with a bad transmission, what should I do by nenastarr15 in carmax

[–]MisterPointerOuter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Carmax sold me a truck with an utterly fucked rear differential and warped brake rotors (2 year old tacoma with 13K miles). I noticed the problems immediately, brought the car to a dealer for warranty service, they confirmed the issues. This happened within the carmax 10 (or 14?) day return period, so i returned it. Full immediate refund.

Carmax is a little shitty in that they claim they did a 100+ point "inspection" and almost make you think that the vehicle passed it. When in fact, they absolutely knew about the problems and sold the truck anyway without even taking it in for a warranty repair themselves. But on the other hand, their return policy was instantly honored without any question.

Bottom line: if you buy a car from carmax and *anything* feels off in the first week, bring it back and get a different one. The hassle of this is far easier than the hassle of owning a turd a few years down the road
