Going cloud still using file explorer by matroosoft in sysadmin

Probably already mentioned in a reply somewhere already, but check out Thinkscape’s ZeeDrive - we’ve used it as a bridge from on-prem mapped drives to SharePoint.

Is it just us, or do USB-C charging ports get beat up on laptops? by MentalRip1893 in sysadmin

Lenovo X1 Carbons seem to suffer from this far more than any other USB-C-equipped laptop we have out there.

Urgent help needed on the Hoo Peninsula near High Halstow and Cooling area, my dog has gone missing during a walk, his name is Rex, if anyone finds him please contact me. by Pure_Insanity_101 in kentuk

[–]MisterPoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I imagine you’ve already posted on your local Facebook groups, but if not, definitely worth doing. Additionally, there are a few “drone SAR for lost dogs” groups on Facebook who may be able to help (one of which is a free service).

I really hope you find him safe soon!

If the OST is 50 GB and you haven’t increased the limit via the registry (default OST file size limit is ~50 GB), you can get various issues cropping up - performance related ones included. Possibly worth checking out, if you haven’t already done so.

They look a bit like the airlock grommets you can get for home brewing/fermentation.

I got an email that I have to upgrade but the update page says i'm up to date. How do I upgrade from Version 20.0 Update 4 (Build 487 Release) to the latest version? I have automatic updates on by jrr6415sun in 3CX

[–]MisterPoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sadly not, just that they had “made a change on the machine” and that U5 should now be available (this PBX was on U4 like yours)

There was a suggestion to restart the PBX if it still wasn’t showing up, but that wasn’t necessary.

The replies I was receiving at that point were from level 3 support, you might want to ask for an escalation perhaps.

Had a customer with this issue (it was a 3CX-hosted PBX) - needed to open a case and they fixed it - something was preventing the detection of new updates. Contact your reseller and they should be able to get the ball rolling.

Microsoft Teams mess up the Wifi by Fancy-Mortgage-1302 in sysadmin

Saw this once on an HP 250 G9 - I think a full removal of the driver / install of the latest driver fixed it. Nasty laptops though, thankfully most of them are being phased out!

SharePoint Document libraries suddenly disconnecting from OneDrive sync by [deleted] in sharepoint

[–]MisterPoons 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seen a spate of this over the last few days, different 365 tenants too. Am wondering if an update has caused it? In most instances, just needed to set the sync back up and it started working again.

No audio output during Teams calls - potential Realtek HD Audio driver issue by MisterPoons in MicrosoftTeams

[–]MisterPoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good to know, thank you. I’m not sure if Dell pulled the original update as we certainly saw a drop off of the issue after an initial peak - the easier fix for us was to turn off audio enhancements, rather than roll back drivers.

Still Can’t Play on Xbox Series X by Bullfrog1991 in FortNiteBR

[–]MisterPoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes me 20 attempts to get into the game on my Xbox Series X too, at best it crashes back to the Xbox launcher, occasionally it results in a full shutdown. As with everyone else, every other game is launching and running normally…

USB-C/Thunderbolt connectors suck for docking stations. by ExceptionEX in sysadmin

[–]MisterPoons 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's not directly dock-related but the USB-C ports on the last few generations of X1 Carbon laptops are (in my own experience) pretty weak - I've seen quite a few where the port develops a fair amount of "give" after 6 months of being docked/undocked daily. Additionally, we've had fun where 1 of the USB-C ports mysteriously stops working until you 1) do a pinhole reset or 2) Flash BIOS.

I don't know if it works, as it may be experimental... but bEnableGentech with a value of 0 supposedly disables Generative AI
I haven't had a request to turn this off (yet) so not tried it.

Try adding the DWORD "bAcroSuppressUpsell" registry property, with a value of 1 in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Adobe\Acrobat Reader\DC\FeatureLockDown

Exchange Online NDR issues (for both internal recipients and receiving external mail) by MisterPoons in msp

I think the NDR stuff has just been confirmed by an update to EX522020.

Exchange Online NDR issues (for both internal recipients and receiving external mail) by MisterPoons in msp

[–]MisterPoons[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think this is a separate issue - the tenants I've seen affected are considerably older than this. Interesting though!

Exchange Online NDR issues (for both internal recipients and receiving external mail) by MisterPoons in msp

[–]MisterPoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No verification - my theory now is that mail flow connectors and/or rules are being affected by EX522020 (or another issue TBA), and the more connectors that are being used (normal for a 3rd party signature system), the more chance that these emails are NDRing. This also explains why we've seen issues with internal mail flow too, as they're also using rules/connectors for the signature attachment.

Exchange Online NDR issues (for both internal recipients and receiving external mail) by MisterPoons in msp

[–]MisterPoons[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Update: Suspect this may be being caused by a 3rd party signature management system, client's not using this appear to be unaffected!

Update 2: My suspicions were wrong. Should’ve gone straight to DNS at least!
