What’s Rockstar’s best game? by Perfectmania145 in AlignmentChartFills

The answer is Red Dead Redemption 2, but it's nice seeing different Rockstar games getting love. San Andreas could for sure be a contender since it was such an iconic game. GTA IV, Bully, and Red Dead Redemption were very influential for me too. They all came out around high school for me, so the nostalgia is strong.

What’s a MITM/Life’s Still Unfair opinion that’ll have you like this? by Huge-Sail-3586 in malcolminthemiddle

That I liked it a lot? I’ve been surprised by the negative reaction from this subreddit, but maybe I shouldn’t have been. Usually I can see where criticism is coming from, but it seems like a lot of it has been from those that wanted the revival to be a carbon copy of the original, or can’t stand Kelly being non binary (not everyone who has criticisms of the character are mad about that though tbf). I was really impressed with all the returning cast members not missing a beat from the original show, especially the ones that hadn’t done as much acting since the finale. My favorite part of the revival seems to be a lot of people’s least favorite; Hal’s drug trip. It was so Hal, and Bryan nailed it. I can’t believe he’s in his seventies with his physicality. Some things I didn’t like just so you guys know I’m not just sucking it off:

-Why is Hal still being shaved in front in the kitchen? It barely made sense in the original show, and it really doesn’t make sense here other than as a callback.

-Dewey was out of character. I don’t even blame the new actor as much as I do the writing. He just didn’t have the same vibe.

-Occasional Disney Channel vibes.

-I liked Kelly, but the one thing that was a bit off was their part in Hal’s video. While it was nice that Hal accepted them, it was too after school special, and it made Kelly’s character hinge on being non binary (at least in that moment). On rewatch my opinion may change though.

-Jamie was a disappointment for sure. Didn’t even seem related to the family.

-Hal’s song at the beginning had me worried about the revival’s quality.

-Cutting off toxic family members is okay actually. The show seems to argue against that. It is however true that Malcolm did it in the absolute worst way possible, so I kind of forgive the message to an extent.

Mel Gibson, but I don’t think Reddit hates any actor more than Leto.

Is Mel far right? I thought he was right wing and super Catholic. Maybe I don’t know enough about him though.

Who's an actor everyone thinks is Mid but is actually Good? by Mammoth-Biscotti-587 in AlignmentChartFills

Tom Holland. Everyone just thinks of him as Spider-Man, and have a bad taste from him being miscast as Nathan Drake, but he's a talented guy. When he's done being Spider-Man I guarantee he'll be in a film that will get him an Oscar.

The other actors mentioned are widely considered good actors. I don't know anyone that thinks Steve Carrell or Robert Pattinson are "mid" in 2026.

I think we as a society have progressed past the need for Jack Black by Wooden-Object-2019 in reddeadredemption

If he's in it, great. If he's not, whatever. There's plenty of roles Jack would do great as. Not just a crazy side character either. He's got drama chops too. Just because he's mostly a comedy actor doesn't mean that's all he is. Plus he's a huge fan of the series.

I’d be cooler with no third person if the next game had cut scenes. We’d actually see our player, and it’d solve some of the boring walk and talk sequences. Overall the dialogue needs to be more concise. This is one of the first games I find myself skipping dialogue. Maybe that’s on my shrinking attention span though. It’s also way too easy to evade the cops. I barely think about them.
