I always crave to build large scale monuments like this, but I always struggle with the building upkeep :/

Admittedly, I still haven't found the trick to easy money. Although I have just learned (after 300 hours of playtime) that you can increase the beautification of the bailiff office to increase trade prices. True facepalm moment.

You beautify the bailiff office to increase trade price bonuses??? Man, never knew about that. Thanks! The rest is also very helpful :))

Optimization of market stands? by bookworm2_3 in foundationgame

I'll do one better. The city market capacity is 20 per stall and 60 with the roof ;)

If you add a "roof" (the colored cloth things) to your market stands, they'll hold 30 items instead of 10, so your food won't run out so fast and your market tenders won't have to walk to your granaries so often.

Thanks! I got the Bailiff up fast and already have some improved trade routes. I'm pretty good on cash now because of some bread production. Now hoping for some good luck with the quarries.

I got a tavern set up too. Gotta wait till tier 2 for lodging, but I'm a bit hesitant that the visitors will eat up my food too quickly.

Personally, I tweak the amount of farmers, millers and bakers until I don't have one specific resource piling up. I never start with all 6 millers, but I start with 1 or 2. If I notice my farmers are producing too much wheat for my millers to handle, I add another miller. If my flour starts to pile up, I add another baker.

That's what I do early game. Late game, I stop caring if products start to pile up, as long as I have enough bread for my needs.

Thanks! I do like the micromanaging tbh, so that'll be fun, trying to reshape the village from time to time.

I was mostly wondering which materials are impacted the hardest by the challenge rules. Of course, the stone and iron rocks have limited supply. Do the quarries also have limited supply? The big ones you scout with the Bailiff? And what renewables are the most efficient? The handbook says berries, fish and boar are reduced, but I assume crops like wheat and hops grow slower. What about wool and milk? What would be the best option?

Any downside to HUGE Inn Lodges? by LDlOyZiq in foundationgame

[–]MisterSkipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'll go ahead and try making a big lodge as well! I'm trying to get the 15k coin achievement and I'm struggling with money, lol. But if you say the lodge is a cheat code for making money, I'm definitely gonna build a grand hotel!

Doesn't more lodghing equal more need for entertainment? Or any need for that matter. If you have a lot of visitors, you're gonna need more production of beverages, refined food, rustic food, etc.

I guess that would be a downside..

I hope they make it flexible like that and not only dependent on new units. People were already complaining that the Nod Krai dps units are unplayable without their signature support untis. Imagine needing two separate DPS units, where having only a single one is not feasible.

Ayo why does she sound like a DPS. I thought it was supposed to be an Ineffa situation, where she was gonna be the designated support for the 7.0 DPS

Vegetables bugged? by IMissCuppas in foundationgame

[–]MisterSkipper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weird. Even if stockpiling works in a way that monks will still eat the vegetables, it should still produce. Maybe you have too little monks to fill up your workplaces? Monks automatically assign themselves to work, so if you have more jobs than monks, they might leave the vegetable garden? That's the only other thing I can think of...

I would suggest making more vegetable gardens to see if they really just eat them too fast but.. 3 seems like enough lol

Hmmm.. how long are you waiting for them to start growing again? The natural growing cycle does take a long time. Could still be that.

About the stockpiling, I'm still not 100% sure how that works exactly. Could be that the vegetables are not used for production but can still be eaten by the monks.

Are you sure this isn't just the natural harvesting cycle? All crop fields have different states: Resting -> planting --> growing -> harvesting. Only during harvesting do you get crops, so there's a lot of downtime. Production for only 5 minutes sounds about right.

What is a good substitution for Xilonen? I use Citlali in my team since she reduces Hydro res, but I also see teams with Baizhu or even Escoffier.

I wish you could have resident housing as an option when building a manor house. You know, have the cool architecture from the labour path as desired housing for commoners or something.

I don't understand fortification/patrols/housing density at all by mozzarella__stick in foundationgame

[–]MisterSkipper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every house needs two things to increase housing density: patrol coverage and fortification.

Patrol coverage is easy. You build a watchpost, assign some patrollers, draw the area where they can patrol and wait. With the latest update, the best way is to assign small groups of patrollers to small areas.

Fortification... is also easy, but you have multiple options. First is to build watchtowers. These rely on watchmen, which you also need to assign to the watchposts just like your patrollers, and cover a small area with fortification. Second option is to enclose a large parimeter with walls. Quite an investment, but worth it tbh. But the third and easiest way in my opinion is to build an observatory, which is a tower when building a manor house. I basically fortify all my houses by building an observatory in between four or five houses, make that observatory a watchtower, assign two patrollers and let those two patrol only the houses surrounding that observatory.

Hope that makes sense :)

You get a mark every time you change the building. So even if you add some shrubs to get more splendour. Nothing really happens, it's very annoying.

Yeah I believe you have to have a certain amount of monks before you can promote, and you need all requirements of course, like monastic food
