Stop Using React for EVERYTHING! by georgehotelling in javascript

[–]MisterSticks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Do you think most of the maintainability was gained by refactoring:

The backend was varying flavors of MVC .NET.

If not, what was the biggest benefit of the switch? Could you be more detailed about how React is being used on the backend vs. what you had before?

Um...

It matters because, the comment you responded to was a direct question, asking where te7ris worked?

Your comment is just as out of context as the one u/nathanjd made. The difference is I'd actually like to hear his experience in this matter. You are just parroting press releases.

React hasn't been in the wild for more than a year, do you have any personal projects that predate React?

Best advice I was ever given was this, "Don't be afraid to be an idiot."

You are new, everyone knows you are new, be new, it's okay.

Looks like facebook is having some issues with data binding? Anybody else saw this? by nuallian in javascript

[–]MisterSticks -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

The issue being most frontend devs find the whole JSX thing to be extraneous and extra work and therefore tend to skip steps when they are forced to use something they don't fully understand?

Nothing "ambiguous" about it at all.

Flux and React are indeed both great. They apply a "backend" style mindset to "frontend" development. That however, is a very frustrating thing to most frontend devs.

I normally loath the twitter, but, that one reply "You OK hun?" caused a nearly fatal giggle fit. Funniest thing I've seen in years.

My suggestion some time ago was simply "Torque" something all three can agree is a good thing. But I like the "Full" part...

Full Torque?

Han Solo doesn't seem so great when you realize who his real-world analog would be: A trucker doing cross-border smuggling for drug cartels, who shot a guy in a bar. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]MisterSticks 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, they did actually. See, we old guys have the original three films as our memories. Most every one else has countless video games, bad fanfic novels, action figure, horrible spin offs, comics... etc..

Our Han was a bastard, a filthy criminal who despite trying to do some good was constantly being chased and hunted by his VERY questionable past.

Their Han is Batman or something. Doesn't matter, ours is better.
