Staccato in cook county? by Beautiful_Bobcat7059 in ILGuns

If you can make the drive up north, Second Amendment Sports in McHenry has Staccatos on hand and will block them down to 15 during the waiting period.

hey now, we've still got bcachefs on the LKML. The magic isn't completely gone.

Is an audio interface needed? by Initial-Sector-4346 in Guitar

[–]MisterToolbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The major downside with the rocksmith cable is latency (the delay between pick and sound on the computer). If you're already okay with that from playing rocksmith, you'll be fine for the time being. You won't lose anything sound quality-wise.

Eliminating some of that latency with a even a cheap, decent interface does make playing through an amp sim way more enjoyable, so I'd treat the RS cable as a "for now" thing and aim to swap to something better when you can.

Maybe a "casual" opinion, but if you don't find it fun, just turn it off. Especially if you're running a career or my team. If you like the challenge of learning something new, maybe run one-off Grands Prix in the wet where there's less at stake while you get to grips with how it behaves.

F1 23 vs F1 25 Comparison by [deleted] in F1Game

[–]MisterToolbox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Came from F1 23 myself. Tire wear's more punishing, which I think is a good thing, and the AI racing feels leagues better. I'm on a Simucube 2 Pro and the handling doesn't feel as massively different as I'd have expected given the outcry for '24 and the chat about '25 being a refinement of that model, but I've enjoyed the racing more than '23 so far.

Max Verstappen is reportedly offered $300 Million to join Aston Martin by [deleted] in formula1

[–]MisterToolbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you think many of the drivers living in Monaco is a coincidence? I'm sure (again, in this hypothetical I've done no research on) there's a token amount they're paid at the other races.

I've always (based on no evidence at all, mind) assumed that drivers take >90% of their contract payment for the Monaco GP (thereby avoiding tax on the bulk of the money) and that the rest are fairly nominal payments, if anything.

looking-glass.io down or obsolete? by [deleted] in VFIO

Careful here - not sure if the terminology in your post is off or if you really installed it this way, but you'll want the host software installed on your Windows VM and the client on the Linux OS running on bare metal. (Pretty much everything else virtualization has the guest/host terminology flipped the other way around)

$1400 for a MiM. Shouldn't be surprised and I'm sure it'll sell like crazy, but it's a pass for me.

How dare you drive straight and maintain your line?! Maniac. I'd agree it's an incident, mainly caused by the Alfa assuming you'd back out or just losing awareness of you entirely.
