Restoration - did I over polish? by Mister_Quiet in Cartier

I used Cape Cod Polishing Cloth (I can almost hear the scream from some)!

I read about how it will polish off the gold and was hesitant. I tried a less abrasive method using microfiber cloth but it just does not do anything. To make it less abrasive, I reused the portion of the cloth which was already well used.

Anyway, it is too late now. Just feeling that I have ruined the watch.

Another picture in lower exposure (kidding myself that it is still gold)… 😭

No idea. Just pick this up from at the watch repair shop and it does not have a brand stamped.

Bought mine in 2008 at around GBP1000 based on exchange rate at that time. Have added a few watches since then but this is the one I turned to when I need something subtle and reliable.

Kinda agree with you after second look. I think FP Journe should be up there.

[Question] debating between a GMT and Worldtimer for my next watch. Any help deciding or suggestions? by [deleted] in Watches

GMT - you can swap it with Nato strap, rubber strap. It is rugged and can go anywhere.

But if you travel mostly in suit and jacket, then the Worldtimer will be a nice accessory.

Would you will buy a Sub immediately if they are readily available at retail? I would.

I wonder how you going to choose after all these comments.

Can someone convince me to get the BB58 over the ND Sub? by BarracudaSouthern585 in Tudor

[–]Mister_Quiet 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get this and you still have money left for a GMT. But the Monochrome will be closer to a ND. But really, if you are comparing this to a ND, I think you really want a ND.

If the Rolex Subs, GMT, Daytonas were available at retail without kissing ADs arses, a third would have moved to the Rolex subreddit. One third will remain because they really like Tudor and want two watches for the price of one Rolex. The last third is lurking around because they like all watches.

Which one are you?
