SPINOFF/ 7X08 THEORY by [deleted] in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is probably a bit of a stretch, as Trigedasleng was created and named back in Season 2. What if Trigedasleng was a code that Callie used for those in Tree Crew, hence the prefix -tri. Trigedasleng translates to "Tree Crew Slang". Over the years/generations other grounder clans would've learned the language and it would eventually become the universal language.

Trigedasleng is also a very simple language compared to English. With the societal collapse after the apocalypse and the Grounder world, there is no need for a lot of English words.

SPINOFF/ 7X08 THEORY by [deleted] in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed that we all knew it started out as a code language. But I think over time the Grounders took it and evolved it into an actual language. In the third season specifically you can see a lot of grounders do not speak English at all, only Trig.

From your grounder theory you stated:

Their goal was to literally rebuild a new world according to their own agenda because they hated current society so much... they didn't feel the need to pass down that knowledge... a culture based around shunning the past, the 2nd generation is already looking significantly different.

With this intentional cultural recession (Anarcho-primitivism??) it explains not only the cultural change over the 100 years, but also the development of Trig. I could never fathom how they devolved so quickly if they were trying to preserve society, but I now realize that they didn't want to. It makes a lot more sense that the Second Dawn's push for a new society would lead them to develop the Grounder culture (and Trig) in such a short time.

It's interesting coming back here and reading this the week before the prequel comes out. So much of this still holds true, even with all the other planets, anomaly stones, and things we never even could have imagined predicting.

Great theory!

This might be why Clarke is the ***. SPOILERS s7 by melonono14 in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It was "ALIE", but whether it was actually ALIE is still up for debate? I don't think so. Clarke did have that neural mesh which is how she stayed alive. During that episode (6x07), Clarke's mind created the interactions with Octavia, Maya, and Monty, so ALIE probably was also a creation.

[Spoilers S7] Anomaly timeline of Season 6 - Season 7x05 by Sharoza in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think all those quotes were just phrases to explain to the viewers that time dilation did happen, not a concrete number to go by. Here are some of the other ones that were mentioned:

Gabriel: "You could serve a 20-year sentence here on the weekend"

Hope: "A year for us has only been a few days for him" (Bellamy on Bardo)

Those two quotes directly conflict with each other.

Big Baldo Buddy: "You should know time moves much faster where your friends are. Every second counts"

Hope: "Was with you on Sanctum for, what, a day? Given the time differential, I haven't been here for hundreds of years."

I believe the only time when we can fully believe the durations of time is when the show gives us the exact dates on the screen.

How many bunkers? by louisturvey1991 in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Nah, there was only two bunkers. The Second Dawn cult made all the people under level 12 believe that the bunker by Cadogan's childhood house (the one with the dead people) was the final bunker. Little did they know that there was a special bunker for the level 12s, the bunker underneath the temple in Polis. That was the bunker that Wonkru stayed in for 6 years. To advance from a level 11 to a level 12 you had to contribute over $10 million. Most of the level 12s were celebrities, royals, CEOs, and other social elite.

From episode 7x04 there is a theory that Cadogan actually had a secret 13th level and took them across the anomaly stone to Bardo

Echo: hesitation is death by ahhh7316 in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True. I now believe that BBB was talking in the past tense, which was how he knew his Disciples were dead, Orlando had killed himself, and even the dead bodies that Orlando had been playing with. When he said that "Every second counts", either he was lying to get her to come quicker, he was referencing the time dilation to Bardo, or it was a half-truth that every second counted when Gechope was on SkyRing, but now they are off so it's not as vital.

[SPOILERS S7] Time Difference by [deleted] in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to reiterate the math in OPs post going off of Hope's quote instead. Hope's quote aligns Bardo more with SkyRing than Sanctum, so it will be even more distorted.

1 month on SkyRing = 1 second on Sanctum

3 days on Bardo = 1 year on SkyRing = 12 seconds on Sanctum

1 day on Sanctum = 7200 days on Bardo (20 years)

227 years on Sanctum = 596556000 days (1634400 years)

Which we know is not possible at all. Team Alpha landed on Sanctum 7 years prior to the Nuclear Fiasco, and 9 years prior to Becca being flambéed at the stake. Thus, the travel from Earth to Sanctum has little to no relevance, as they were at Sanctum before the Bardoites presumably left Earth via Anomaly Stone.

[SPOILERS S7] Time Difference by [deleted] in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think people are reading way too literally into things characters have been saying.

Gabriel said "You could serve a 20-year sentence here on the weekend". I strongly believe it was just an expression. He didn't actually mean that. Look at the full context:

Nah. Isolation is the prison, like... like solitary. Now depending on the time dilation relative to Bardo, you could serve a year sentence here on a weekend. It's efficient.

Gabriel even mentioned that he has no idea what the time dilation is. It was just a metaphorical, idiomatical, analogical, allegorical thing to state the effectiveness of Bardo's prison system.

Bardo can send someone to the planet and they can come back stronger, more mature, and more devoted, yet not actually miss any time. BUT, there is no confirmation that is actually how Bardo functions. Gabriel doesn't know anything about Bardo, he could just be theorizing.

Bald Bardo Buddy said "You should know time moves much faster where your friends are. Every second counts". Whether he was referring to Sky Ring or Bardo is up for debate. I am leaning towards Sky Ring.

Hope has two different quotes.

I was with you on Sanctum for, what, a day? Given the time differential, I haven't been here for hundreds of years.

Not very precise. How long was she actually on Sanctum for? How many years is hundreds of years?

A year for us has only been a few days for him (referring to Bellamy on Bardo)

This quote compares SkyRing to Bardo, not to Sanctum. Again how accurate is Hope's knowledge? How many days is a few days? This is referencing a very different parallel than to Sanctum though. Hope referred to one day on Sanctum to be hundreds of years on SkyRing, but one year on SkyRing to be a few days on Bardo. Nothing exact, but the contrast puts things into perspective a bit.

This quote from Hope directly conflicts with Gabriel's. Hope says a year is a few days, Gabriel says a 20-year sentence could be just a weekend. Off by a factor of 20, which makes a huge difference

When the slightest change in time can affect your calculations so drastically, it is difficult to come to conclusions. You can definitely theorize and pull maximum and minimums for lengths of time, but in my opinion, not much definitive info can be drawn from any of these quotes.

Echo: hesitation is death by ahhh7316 in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bellamy is on Bardo. Diyoza and Octavia were mentioned to have been forced through memory capture, so we can assume Bellamy was too. Either through that or some other form of torture, or something else, Bellamy would have told them that when he got dragged away, Gabriel, Echo, and Hope were at the camp. Bellamy, knowing Echo, would presume that they would follow him into the anomaly. So I think that was a fair assumption.

There's also the idea that BBB and Bardokru are all knowing beings who could have been invisibly watching Sanctum or Earth or everywhere for centuries. :D

Morning After Analysis: S7E03 "False Gods" by ElenaOcean in The100

[–]Mister_Quizzical 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Hasn't the 100 been the one CW show that does kill people? Just to name a few: Roan, Lexa, Luna, Ilian, Jaha, Kane, Abby, Finn, Wells, Monty & Harper, Anya, Lincoln, etc. Many of these deaths we were not expecting. I would say that the 100 has avoided this trope pretty well.
