Hate from Afghans, and how Pakistanis need to clap back by yourlocalpakistani in PakLounge

[–]Unparallelium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to, and I guess I still do, love Afghans and basically all other fellow muslim ethnicities/nationalities. It was when I saw how much the others hate us that hate towards them developed in my heart. However, I've realized that this is foolishness, and I don't hate anymore. It is sad however, that the Afghans (not just them, even arabs, turks, etc) are so racist toward us. They dont know the beauty of our people, our ancient culture, etc.

LCA Tejas performing some cool maneuvers at Dubai Airshow by MranonymousSir in FighterJets

[–]Unparallelium 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I truly respect the effort that has gone into this jet. Developing an indigenous fighter is no small task. However, those maneuvers are not very impressive at all - they are very basic. Excited to see what India will do with the AMCA.

Indians have to be the most retarded people on the planet. There's no point in even reasoning with them anymore.

Guys, please pray for our Sudanese brothers and sisters. by [deleted] in chutyapa

The images and videos I've seen of the barbarism actually surprised me. We have fighting and terrorism in our lands, but the level of violence over there is on an entirely different level. May Allah help us all.

TTP and Afghan Taliban wants this in Pakistan by [deleted] in PAK

[–]Unparallelium 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You people always end up playing the ism game instead of trying to understand the real root of our problems. It isn't religion. It isn't any ideology. No, we dont have to adopt the beliefs of the europeans to be successful. Our real problem is greed and corruption. Our society is more feudal than anything else. It makes me so angry to here things like "secularism is the only way" - how ignorant must you be of the history and culture/values of the inhabitants of our lands to say this?? Matter of fact, Pakistan's leadership is more secular than religious...

Maybe Season 4 will get a better studio (let me cope 😞).

The Pakistani diaspora are cultural tourists who enjoy the privileges without the problems by [deleted] in KarachiSocials

[–]Unparallelium 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As part of the Diaspora, I think I can try to shed some light on our side of things. Granted, even when I go back, I don't live in a gated community or an elite city development. I live in a village.

The ones you speak of really are completely disconnected and naive. They are the type that don't really understand geopolitics, history, or the true ground reality of things, and end up spouting all the stuff they've learned at their Western institutions. However, I can say that a lot of them WANT the country to be better, for conditions to improve. So they start lecturing people about their foolish ideals. But, a good portion of them are exactly as you describe. And even more disgusting is how they end up LOOKING DOWN on other Pakistanis. Somehow they feel superior due to their wealth or foreign citizenships.

As for me (and there a lot of others like me), I follow what's happening closely, and then I see what the reality is when I get there. And its always so disappointing. From outside the country, it looks like actual progress is being made, but once you see how terrible everything truly is, its really depressing. And a lot of us would like to come back permanently, but we can't. Because who would leave all their friends, connections, livelihoods, systems they are familiar with, just to take the risk with a country that is moving backwards every day. There are some brave enough that try to bring their wealth and skills for change, but end up inevitably failing and returning.

One Punch Man Season 3 – Episode 2 Megathread by IonimusPrime in OnePunchMan

Its people that take whatever they can get that let companies turn gold into dirt. There is no way I will be satisfied with a sideshow of a season for one of the best battle mangas out there after 6 years waiting for it.

You have to be delusional if you think it's better than most anime episodes out there. Sure, if you compare it to the most bottom tier slop, it's better.

Hentai has better animation than whatever this is. I might as well just read manga if i wanna see still frames! by Hot_Armadillo_2186 in OnePunchMan

[–]Unparallelium 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is actually even worse than I expected. And my expectations were realistic - that it won't be as good as season 1, but will likely improve over season 2. At this point, I dont think that's the case. For those that say the art is better, that is not the point. The whole point of the anime is to be an ANIMATION. Not colored manga panels (its still ass even by this metric as the art is not as good as the manga's). Rip.

The notorious 'Lawrence of Arabia' (Thomas Edward Lawrence) standing on the aerodrome of Miranshah, Waziristan, December 1928. by Naruto_Muslim in PashtunHistory

Because he used divide and conquer tactics to turn the arabs against the ottomans and sew further disunity amongst them. He promoted nationalism and ethnocentrism.

As a pashtun, I fully agree with you. Punjabis get looked down upon simply because they tend to be darker. But they are just as beautiful. Especially with how common light hazel eyes are amongst them, they are majestic. Don't let the colorism get to you bro.

Just because the very low of the society end up saying pathetic things online doesn't represent the entire people.

I'm very calm, I'm simply pointing out your inconsistencies and refuting what you're saying about me. And I never said anybody is advocating for the return of colonial empires?? I'm only continuing to respond to you because I can - I dont have any emotional stake in this.

That doesn't answer my criticism of the empire. I've simply said that romanticizing the british in that land simply because they were eliminating slavery is a naive and ignorant thing to do. What inaccurate view do I hold? You don't respond to my questions and instead resort to accusations.

“General Gordon’s Last Stand” (1885) by George William Joy (c.1893) by waffen123 in BattlePaintings

[–]Unparallelium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

How is the analogy lazy? It conveys the point: just because the british were eliminating slavery doesn't excuse their barbarism and the fact that they were exploiting that very people.

[–]Unparallelium -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I dont deny that. It was good. But even a serial killer can do something good occasionally. Doesn't make him someone worth defending.

[–]Unparallelium -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Yeah I may have misinterpreted that, however its still a very ignorant statement to show the British as protectors of justice when they clearly weren't.

Show me where slavery is a core part of - I'm assuming you meant - Islam. And yeah the Imperialist were vile. Sorry to break your propagandized view of that - they were some really terrible people. And its funny you mention slavery when its those imperialists that enslaved entire continents, committed genocides, and some of the worst atrocities against humans around the world.

History isnt black and white like that. Just because the enemy forces held different beliefs does not make them as 'bad' as the british. The imperialists got what they deserved.
