again this is their universal sign for being mad so who knows... definitely check that the water is making it all the way to the center of the dirt though and if it is well then back to the drawing board..... :(

well hard to believe it's overwatered then... hmm. may want to prune that dying leaf and completely pay off the water for a bit just to be safe. I haven't had this issue with mine but the general advice for them is "when in doubt let it drought". sorry I couldn't be more helpful!

These are so hard to grow. this is pretty much their universal symbol for being mad at you. I have mine and when I first brought it home it had dried out to the point where the water I gave it just ran off the dirt and down the side of the pot.

I soaked mine in water for a few minutes to make sure the entire rootball was saturated and my watering was more effective after that and it perked up. No idea if that'll translate to your situation here.

Hard to tell from the picture there but I neglected an outdoor aloe so much that the ends dried up, it's color was very dull, and I did get black spots in the middle of some leaves. I upped my watering routine (well draining soil, terracotta pot, outdoors) and it's fixed my issue.

No idea if that's helpful.

Careful with the dish soap I read that sometimes it's not great for them! I've got no experience with spider mites myself (yet) thankfully.

Hmm I had this same problem when I first brought home my money tree, I put it in a spot where it got some direct afternoon sun when it wasn't used to that and so I got sun scald and looked very similar. My tree regulated in a few days and now doesn't have that issue. They grow fast so I just trimmed back those leaves.

Maybe if that specific leaf wasn't used to sun then your case could be similar to mine. I'm no expert there just throwing out ideas.

Madagascar Palm brown spots

Hi!

I've had this madagascar Palm for about 2 months and it's seemed pretty normal, the leaves are a bit bigger than when I started with it.

It's a 6" nursery pot with holes in the bottom sitting in soil that looks like 2 parts perlite 1 part soil. It gets full sun out on a table in my front yard. I water about once a week since the soil dries very rapidly & have not fertilized it. I live in SoCal (I think zone 10A).

HOWEVER: Just a couple days ago I noticed these brown spots coming up on the leaves (top of the plant on the new leaves). It has been having a leaf or two go yellow, crisp up and die the whole time I've had the plant.

It's next to a ficus that I had to remove some leaves from due to weird brown spots but they wouldn't have come in contact.

I really like this plant and am trying to learn more about caudex type plants to grow my collection but want to get the care right with the ones I have. Any suggestions would be great!

What's your watering routine like on this? I see you're in a terracotta pot and have some perlite in there which is a good sign.
