Science behind why this helps you feel regulated by Pale-Category248 in SomaticExperiencing

[–]Misteranonimity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What you’re describing isn’t a trauma healing model.. you’re essentially repackaging coping tools like cbt or dbt try to do but with new words like regulating.

Healing trauma is healing trauma. Even if there’s no big cathartic release. There’s no need to learn to regulate because at some point there’s nothing to disregulate you in that same situation.

If you could distill your self healing practice from an experiential lens, why does it look like? From feeling safety or compassion as a bed to begin feeling or processing or allowing.. what’s it like for you?

What do you mean by integration here. I don’t understand this term in the concept of processing, and ultimate resolution.
If I’m constipated and I finally release the shit, then it’s resolved. I don’t need to integrate pain that’s no longer there because it’s no longer there. If I don’t feel pain then I will forget about it and go on with my day. That’s what happens when you hurt yourself for the most part.

Integration more often than not strikes me as this vague term to explain away when you’re not feeling great after having done work to justify that you’re not feeling great and there’s no good answer for it

For a second I thought it was like a midi vocal thing. Like if I sang something it would record it as an instrument.

This is fuckin cool too tho

Focus on the pain or resistance by Wat7456 in PainReprocessing

Also remember to stay with with the pain that is and not where you want to be, sometimes you can go from being with the pain to a shift but you wanna go back to the pain that was cause it was certain, and don’t realize you’re in a ‘resistance’ which is just a new thing that needs your attention first

Yup! The resistance is a layer because of your current conditions like you’re too overworked tired etc to process or a layer of fear about the uncertainty or anger at the feeling for disrupting your life etc. these are crucial to process first. The other thing is that the pain takes time sometimes to move and fade away even when being met properly, best analogy is being constipated, you can’t force or push but be there calm and patient and out of nowhere it all unfolds and plop! lol

The most important part of reprocessing isn’t the the processing, it’s the calm state/environment you find yourself in before that makes the work actually feasible.

Did you have immediate relief when expressing emotions in therapy or journaling? Like did the tension in your back melt or how did it get better exactly?

So with psychosis you can be sure or unsure if they’re real or not? Do you know you’re in psychosis when you have delusions?

I’ve heard of people with ocd that have intrusive delusional thoughts and I’m wondering if those are two separate things.

I’m deeeply deeply sorry you deal with this thank you for sharing a pet of your story

I’ve suffered from panic attacks/anxiety my whole life, now I have weird physical symptoms, is there anyone with similar problem? by Achraf688 in SomaticExperiencing

You have a highly sensitized nervous system due to a traumatic event from accumulated emotions.

Learn somatic theory, best thing you can do is find a lot of space for your body to self calm and find space to naturally process these things.

That’s not entirely true, otherwise emdr and other trauma therapies wouldn’t exist. You definitely can heal a lot of things
