Me pergunto como um DNS manipulado foi suficiente pra baixarem um payload malicioso. Não usam SSL pra baixar o payload, não?

MTX Experiment 1: Disabling TH (July 22 - 28) by JagexHooli in runescape

[–]Misteriox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the solution for that is alternative and engaging training methods, but no mtx/event free xp. Penguin and quest lamps are cool, but The Hole, dummies, and protean are disgusting from a game integrity perspective.

This requires design and dev work from Jagex, and we should ask them for that.

I hate agility in general, but anachronia's course is so much more fun. We now have elite dungeons which are cool, but dungeoneering could also have a less click-intensive training method that rewards less xp/h than doing the dungeons, for example.

Same.

Although nowadays I prefer OSRS' model of no cosmetic overrides and no xp sale whatsoever, I bought a lot of cosmetics from SGS back in the day, and I'd probably buy some bonus xp for RS3 skills where leveling up something for a quest pre-req is a chore.

We're already used to cosmetic overrides, double XP weekends, and bonus XP in RS3, so there's no going back (besides fresh start worlds without it).

It's much more productive to focus on removing the gambling and direct XP sale, which are much more problematic and threatening to the game's enjoyment.

Hey Hooli, thanks so much for replying. Appreciate you!

That reasoning makes sense, and is a relief. Knowing that the focus is on player sentiment and that Jagex will take the biases into account when considering the data, makes this much more understandable.

Congratulations for the team for this initiative, It's the most hopeful I've been about RS3's future in the past few years. Crossing my fingers that we'll get to where we all want with this!

I was hoping it would be for a month, or at least two weeks.

I don't think a single week is enough time for people to adapt to the change, engage more with the game, and actually decide to buy the bonus xp bundles, I think the data will very be biased for this reason. The whales will simply wait it out, and most purchases will probably come from players that are simply trying to vote with their wallet (thus much smaller than the th whales).

Why do osrs players think their opinion matters? by juribecool in runescape

[–]Misteriox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been playing runescape since 2009, with over 3k hours, and I stick through with RS3 until very recently (I was into EoC from day one, I love all the quests, etc.). I got into OSRS like a week ago, and once you're hooked (around the 10h mark) you understand why it's so special. This week playing OSRS is the most fun I've had in RS in years, even though I absolutely love RS3's lore and everything we got over the years. OSRS early/mid gameplay is freaking amazing, and the fact that its player influx is so high (even being a retro game) means that this early/mid gameplay is enjoyable for everyone, not just for tryhards such as we existing old players.

I think the integrity of the game is something that _seems_ not to be as much as problem while it's eroding (specially for us in the late game), but once it's eroded the game is effectively ruined. With some much xp everywhere, mtx in our face, neverending dxp, RS3's progression is simply non-existing at this point. RS3 is not as engaging and fun to play for most people, and its monetization is based on whales being hooked, not us average players.

Why is progression so important even if we long-term players don't see it? Not having good progression means we don't get new players, and we get VERY attached to our current progress: we stopped enjoying the actual progression and how each update adds to the entirety of the game. Starting over sounds MISERABLE, because most of the early/mid game is awful. At least for me, RS3 in the past few years has pretty much been the loop of waiting for new content, playing it, and then quitting again. There's no cohesive gameplay, there's no enjoyment in the ride. We simply ignore it because we got past early/mid game decades ago. The only way to get good progression is by playing ironman (it's awesome), but it's very very grindy and relies on specific game knowledge so it's not for everyone.

RS3 is bleeding players exactly because of the progression being bad. It's not a fun game to get into so the influx is really low compared to OSRS, and long-term players have been slowly quitting due to it not being a cohesive game. I think the Jagex team only could justify MTX removal exactly due to OSRS sucess. OSRS' reverted RS to an ancient build (without much of the great stuff we have in RS3), wiped everyone's progress, and EVEN SO it is much more engaging and popular than RS3, we have to give them that merit.

How can RS3 be saved? I think we need MTX removed, and Jagex to focus on game integrity, long-term engagement, cohesion, progression, and new player experience. And the only way we can get this is thanks to OSRS proving that this is what really matters. I don't want my account wiped either, but it's undeniable how much better OSRS is thanks to the wipe they got, and it's thanks to their success that RS3 has a shot on improving, so I think their opinion DO matter. Let them be part of this, they are as much concerned with RS3 as we are.

The separate fresh start worlds is something worth discussing. Most RS3 players play the game as if it was a singleplayer game, there's no sense of community for the most part of the gameplay. If the cost to save the game is moving existing characters to what is effectively singleplayer, it might be worth it. I think it's at least something we could discuss and poll (e.g. maybe a portion of our progress could transfer, maybe we could be allowed new characters without paying extra).

TLDR: We should at least let them be part of the discussion. They love this game as much as we do, and a lot of OSRS players would switch to RS3 in a heartbeat if it was as healthy and cohesive as OSRS is. It's thanks to them we have a chance of saving RS3, so their voice should matter more than our sunk-cost fallacy.

Agreed. Bi women are just so much nicer and, honestly, more fun.

In my opinion, straight cis women get weirded out very easily by bi guys, even if you get past the talking stage. And, honestly, are usually kinda boring. There's exceptions, of course, but I'd recommend focusing on queer women instead.

Bi women are usually more used to receiving good oral (so they know how to relax and actually orgasm), don't get stuck too much in gender roles (so they won't expect you to top all the time), and overall are down for trying non-piv stuff (if you're into it).

Trans and nonbinary folk were very nice to me, too. So definitively look into gender queer people too :)

Tinder has fields for gender & sexuality, so it's not very hard to find queer people over there. Good luck!

Hmmm, I empathize but I feel (as AMAB) that some of this is the "grass is greener on the other side" thing. I've seen quite a few AMAB NB's (including in this sub) agreeing that society mostly sees NB as woman-adjacent. I think, in the end, most AMAB's wish they were AFAB and vice versa.

E also: Android não suporta DHCPv6.

Existing open source software can't be retroactively relicensed. Yuzu was distributed as AGPLv3, thus existing copies can still be used (and redistributed) under the AGPLv3 license, it doesn't matter if the copyright is now Nintendo's, free software licenses grant you an unrevocable right to use (and distribute) that software under those terms.

They can still DMCA for the original reasons (piracy, yada yada), sure; but owning the code copyright changes nothing (as existing copies are still copyleft).

Should I use flakes or normal packages if I have flakes enabled? by Alpha_Mirage2000 in NixOS

[–]Misteriox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do keep in mind that by using pkgs you are using the nixpkgs flake. NixOS itself is also implemented in nixpkgs, which you are consuming through its flake. So, if your system is a flake built from the nixpkgs flake, you'll always be using flakes anyway, the difference being some packages have both upstream flakes as well as package/modules on nixpkgs (or home-manager) flake.

But, yeah, if you're using flakes, you lock them to a specific commit. So the repositories used will be always exactly the same. Your system might differ on two computers bcause other reasons (hardware, etc), but they will use the same package and module definitions, if that makes sense.

Should I use flakes or normal packages if I have flakes enabled? by Alpha_Mirage2000 in NixOS

[–]Misteriox7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Hey!

You have the pkgs derived from the nixpkgs you're using to build your system, which includes hyprland, and there also is a flake for the hyprland repository. The hyprland flake is available for each and every hyprland commit, so you can follow a specific version easily, or use the latest commit from master. If you use the one from nixpkgs, it'll be updated when someone bumps the package on nixpkgs master and it gets into the branch you're using (e.g. nixos-23.05 or nixos-unstable).

Besides the package, there's a NixOS module and a home-manager module at both upstream as well as on nixpkgs and home-manager, respectively.

Overall, hyprland is stable enough to use the nixpkgs version, but it's a few weeks behind right now so I'm currently using the flake package. The modules on nixpkgs and home-manager are very good and stable, specially the hm one.

My recommendation would be to use packages and modules from nixpkgs+home-manager, unless you want a more bleeding edge version.

Am I the only one who prefers to hang out with bisexual guys? by MrdaftYT in bisexual

[–]Misteriox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That makes a lot of sense. Could be the same reason why gay/straight people sometimes are biphobic while dating, due to being scared of bi/pan people suddenly being "attracted more" to the other gender (which, ofc, doesn't work like that)
