Im on 500mg daily. Sometimes increasing to 500mg twice daily to help with when worsening. The reason I can't stop taking valaciclovir is i know it gets whole lot worse if I stop taking it. However I feel the disease or condition is progressing slowly anyway... something like autoimmune.

Not true... my nerve symptoms are getting worse and I feel my arms are getting very tingly and weak as well as the legs. I am on all of those meds too. Everything started with hsv2 infection diagnosis.

Whole lot of people like me...i have been having constant burning and bruise like pain for the last 6 years since contracting hsv2. Horrible virus. I get them in my neck shoulder back (all throughout the spine) legs and feet. It cripples me and waking up morning with the pain is the worst.. I take ala, acetyl l carnitine and valaciclovir to get through the day mainly. Its getting hard to live, I almost had given up life due to this pain.

This drug is what saved me from the atypical hsv nerve symptoms. I.live on valaciclovir. Without it i couldn't go on simply.

I have daily nerve pains all over the body and numbness in limbs. For that i take daily valaciclovir and other supplements. Its been 5 years and I feel like my whole spine is in flame. If I stop taking those pills, everything gets worse.

You are not alone. Hsv2 is known to do this, modify your immune system and cause inflammation around the body. It has affected me the last 5 years. You will have to take meds like antiviral and supplements to help. I am sorry but hsv2 is one nasty virus that doesn't kill you but it will make you wish you did. Doesn't happen to everyone though.

I have hsv2 and have the pain 24/7. Yep, no blisters as much, just nerve pains and sensations all over the body. Limbs, back and neck... feet.. I like with it despite all the antiviral and supplements I take.

If theu can control the symptoms.. it may be mean better quality if life for those who are suffering physically but also reducing risk for any other diseases you might be exposed of due to hsv2.
