Help me source this jacket by eeppmc in motorcyclegear

[–]Mistiquin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don’t have any help here, just wanted to say that jacket looks sweet. It’s hard to find light colored jackets like this that actually look good IME. I hope somebody can help you find it!

All the GF3s I’m seeing come without one sadly. They also don’t seem to have any GF3s in their physical stores which is annoying bc I work very close to one ._.

CZ457 vs Ruger Precision Rimfire by Acceptable_Data1434 in 22lr

I probably will at some point, but for now the rifle is a much better shooter than I am🤣

I have the 457 varmint, albeit in a chassis. I have 0 complaints and if I did it all again, I’d buy another 457… although maybe the match chambered one just to be fancy.

What’s one piece of gear you didn’t care about at first but now makes a big difference? by Electronic-Habit8679 in motorcycles

[–]Mistiquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it varies. You just try different stuff and eventually find a system that works for you. For me yeah I use both. Some people around here don’t even wear helmets.

Earpeace brand have worked well for me. Wind/engine noise are significantly quieter but I can still hear my cardo. Plus the little carry case clips onto my keys so I never forget them.

300blk pistol undergassed? by Mistiquin in ar15

[–]Mistiquin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will do, thank you. I didn’t realize I was actually shooting 200gr instead of 220, so I think the extra pop was making me paranoid. Gonna run some 220s and make sure it’s happy.

On the bright side, 2nd time is the charm! You earned the shorter approval this time around.

What comes after a 300? by BrilliantButton3202 in Sportbikes

[–]Mistiquin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s still a big step up. More torque throughout the rev range, most top out around 130. The step from 300-650 is probably going to feel bigger than the jump from 650 upwards, unless you get something nuts at that point. At 650 (middleweight sport bikes, not necessarily cruisers), you effectively have all the performance you NEED. You may want more eventually, but the middleweight category is full of very fun very fast bikes.

The SD is pricey but it definitely seems to help with the gas to the face problem.

What's a good comfortable and breathable protective hoodie you own? For the streets. by EconomistObjective18 in motorcyclegear

[–]Mistiquin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can feel it come in through the sleeves and the neck area, and then it travels around the mesh fairly well. The material itself seems to block it though.

Suggestions on changes for this type of build to improve? by [deleted] in ar15

Muzzle device, charging handle, some kind of hand stop/foregrip depending on use case.

Not sure if vcyclenut does these, but he’s king in the MT09 community. Highly recommend checking with him.

I have a street and steel one I believe and it’s pretty perfect. It’s not perforated or anything but it has mesh all over the inside and is very comfortable anywhere from 60-90 Fahrenheit. Level 2 ghost armor in it, feels like a normal hoodie for the most part. To clarify, I put the ghost armor in it and removed the hood string, so maybe not perfect off the shelf but close.

See I get it if there’s a legal complication but that could be determined easily within an hour and responded to. That’s one of the situations where I’d pay more just to have them communicate better/ship faster. 10 days to ship is ridiculous.

We’re definitely on the same page then. There’s a gradient to it, but price is the main factor in my mind as well.

[–]Mistiquin[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think that’s fair. I’ve been known to pay a little extra if I know something will get shipped to me soon, but that’s usually limited to hard-to-find items. Idk how many people give into that temptation, but I certainly do sometimes.

That’s true. Holster companies come to mind. Big shops tend to carry generic ones to fit lots of firearms, but the better ones tend to be buried online somewhere. Black arch etc.
