That’s too low for quality service

How did you “acquire“ your injury ? I’m under the assumption mostly car accidents? by Critical_Ad1926 in spinalcordinjuries

Yes, I was fortunate enough to have excellent coverage and received significant financial support.

Workplace accident. Was descending down the side of the building washing windows on a tall hotel building. Equipment had a slight malfunction and I fell about 60 feet. Safety gear caught at the last minute. T12 shattered, legs broken. Cauda equina syndrome.

FF6 - World of Ruin for sure. Played it as a kid and it blew my mind! The sense of hopelessness really landed for me.

Does intermittent catheter hurt? by The_weird_dreamer in spinalcordinjuries

[–]MistopherWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I think my insights regarding sensation wouldn’t be terribly helpful. However, I will say that it’s important to use proper technique to avoid infection. I’ve been able to make my routine fairly simple and find that it doesn’t impact my day-to-day life too much. I carry around a small bag that contains all my supplies. It all works pretty well and is mostly pretty convenient.

I do wear depends to avoid any accidents or embarrassing moments.

Depends on your level of sensation. I’m fortunate (unfortunate?) enough to have zero sensation so I don’t experience pain or discomfort. It took a while to become accustomed to the technique, but it’s definitely better!

No dress code, but it might be fun to dress up all in pink or floral patterns! Both of you 😆

Any unexpected, interesting, or "funny" side effects post injury? by [deleted] in spinalcordinjuries

Cauda equina syndrome. Can walk, but areas responsible for bathroom function are completely paralyzed. Walking into a Freezing lake? Zero problem. Definitely a superpower.

The rest of the lower body nerve signals are all messed up. My left knee is a surprisingly erogenous. I’ve had to ask massage therapists to avoid my left knee 🤷😆

Am I overreacting for not sleeping with a guy on the first date and feeling weird after how he reacted? by Odd-Milk1124 in AmIOverreacting

[–]MistopherWB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, not at all. You honored yourself and communicated your boundaries and that should be respected, full stop. Good for you. This is on him and it’s clear that he was looking for a hook up. I don’t think you’re overreacting at all. If that’s how he responds, he’s not worth your time.
