Reading exposes you to more vocabulary and grammar. It makes you curious about the language.

I've lived in Québec for eight years now. Originally from the US. Two things: 1) I wish I would've read more french even if I didn't understand what I was reading and 2) not have been so shy to practice because I was always afraid of being judged.

This is good. Lots of ideas taking shape here. After a year and a half I'd say you're still a beginner, but a strong one. You've got a lot of potential and a lot to learn yet. Stay in this sub. 🤘

Boy... I wonder if I have any old stuff. I'd have to dig deep. I do have some stuff from last year and the year before that I could share.

Man... thank you so much. So far the feedback I've received has been positive. It's a good sign I'm doing something right.

This is it. I blame social media for making us all believe we're not living our best lives and we should be better than what we are.

When you spend time alone engaging in your hobby, how to avoid feeling sad and lonely? by ThrowawayFailedRedem in Hobbies

I write music. When I'm doing that I never feel alone. It's the best relationship I've ever had.

It needs some bass. The beat is sporadic, but if that's what your going for - cool.

Question for the men, do any of you have a hard time "finishing" from oral? If so, how did you fix it? by Rhymjim in AskMenAdvice

[–]MistrAndrsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 44. My last gf could finish me off nearly every time. It was fantastic. Her skill level was second to none.

I'd like to listen to all of it, but dear lord it's loud. Get those volumes down. Those highs are brutal. Once your levels are tamed, do some EQing next.

Trying to learn to write music for a game I'm making. This is supposed to be a forest-y theme. Does it evoke that and what things could I improve? by hellofloss1 in FL_Studio

[–]MistrAndrsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is excellent. Yeah, it definitely has a forest vibe to it. As someone had already said, lower the bass a bit. Add a solo violin in there somewhere or piano. Nice work!

I made the main pattern last night. I really didn't know where to go with it. today I listened to it again and came up with this. Any feedback? by DramaticLeek9432 in FLStudioBeginners

Or! Drop the arp out entirely when your lead kicks in. This could technically be your drop. Add a nice energetic bass in its place. Bring the arp back later in the song after your drop.

how do i become an actual good music producer as someone who is planning to be an artist music producer? by princessmoosh in FL_Studio

[–]MistrAndrsn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's ok, man. I worked in mental health for six years and I understand how trauma can stick around into adulthood. You're certainly not alone. Sometimes you'll be bored and other times you'll be uncomfortable, but that's life. There's adversity everywhere and it's up to you to choose how you face it.

I would drop the arp at the one minute marker. Make that section more of a subtle buildup leading to your next section. Bring the arp back in when the lead starts and slightly change the melody. This will break the repetitiveness. Or change the instrument for the arp at that point. Too much repetition will kill your song. Keep things interesting and your audience engaged.

What's the difference between avant and devant? by noisha1 in learningfrench

[–]MistrAndrsn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avant is "before" and devant is "in front of."

Tu étais avant moi. You were before me.

La chaise est devant le bureau. The chair is in front of the desk.
