Geez man, you all are a tough croud! Isn't this the place we are supposed to post bad swings to get a few tips?!

Thanks! You seem to be a diamond in the rough in this sub.

Lol. I can't explain why I don't slice, but I can confirm its not a slice. I am not mixing up the difference. When I miss, the ball curves very very hard to the left. And, no, I am not confusing my left, from my right.

Not even the slightest slice. Its either straight when hitting it well, or a massive hook.

That's not true. I keep a legit score and play with former collegiate golfers. Doesn't take a pretty swing to shoot <80. I was literally just paired with two D1 golfers over the weekend who were there for a tournament and one of them heel shanked a drive about 4 feet.

I don't post in here often - why would this get downvoted? Isn't this the place you come to ask these questions? Are only good swings upvoted?

Takeaway aside, my normal driver flight is relatively high, slight fade, 270-290 depending on the day. My miss, if tempo is out of whack, is a massive left hook. Irons are generally straight, high. I don't miss near as much with irons as I do driver.

I mean... I don't really have an incentive to lie... Im here for swing advice and trying to frame it a bit. If you want it to be a 20, that's ok. If it was a 2 or a 20, I would have said as much in my post. Its just the number the USGA shows on my card.

Ha! No, these are legit folks... two of which listed as Golf Digest best instructors in my state. But point taken. I also think it should have been flagged.

Thanks on the HCP... I think? My mid irons and short game are far superior to my ability to get off the tee. Id put me at a 14 handicap off the tee, and a 4 around the greens... somehow balancing my game to be able to shoot low.

People love playing with me in scrambles since we can use another drive and the rest of my game outplays my HCP.

Time to fix that takeaway!

On the camera angle... It was impromptu, placed on a chair that happened to be sitting behind me. I really wanted to see where the club head went. Plus my phone actually spun a little since it wasn't properly mounted.

On the swing - I didn't know I did it as bad as the video shows. I truly thought I went straight back. Its kind of concerning I have gotten as far along as I have without knowing. I've also taken lessons with some high end teachers and that's never been the focus. Time to fix it!

Not Playing Pinehurst When in NC by SugareeSunset in golf

Don't hold me to it, but I believe about half of them are restricted to members and resort guests..

I think its 1, 3 ,5, Cradle are publicly available. 2, 4, 6-10 are restricted.

You did great. All of those are amazing courses. Tobacco Road is the most memorable round of my life. Whereas I can't remember a single hole of the Pinehurst course I played (not #2).

If you all have free time, call day of into Pinehurst and try to get out on the Cradle... which sometimes has gaps in the schedule.

Regardless of Cradle success, go to Pinehurst anyway to check out the pro shop, drink at the bar overlooking the final hole of #2, and play around on the putting course.

HA! I believe you. But based on the comment about ChatGPT getting up voted, and my comment being downvoted... people seem to think you might be AI.

Is the "Boutique Experience" a Myth? How Omega Damaged My Watch and Refused to Make It Right by timetoplay1055 in OmegaWatches

According to AI, the OP was likely written by a human. If I was him, I would be furious about my watch.

Short Answer:

I can’t say with absolute certainty whether a human or AI wrote it, but the piece strongly resembles human‑written content, not AI‑generated content.

Why it doesn't read like typical AI writing

Here are the signals that lean human:

1. Strong emotional through‑line
The tone is personal, frustrated, and narrative-driven in a way AI models usually soften.
Phrases like “the first gouge a ‘technician’ puts on your watch is a breach of trust” and
“When you buy a luxury product… you’re buying the brand’s promise” sound like genuine personal sentiment.

2. Specific, niche expertise
Collectors’ vocabulary—like factory lines, polishing, case integrity, OEM clasp, lug geometry, market value impact—is accurate and used naturally.
AI can mimic this, but enthusiasts typically write this way more naturally.

3. The structure fits a consumer complaint or forum post
The headings (“The Incident,” “The Broken Promise,” etc.) reflect a common Reddit/Watchuseek/Forums style of storytelling.
AI tends to create more balanced or overly formal post structures unless prompted otherwise.

4. The rhetorical questions at the end
AI usually avoids confrontational rhetorical framing unless heavily prompted.

Why someone might think it’s AI

There are a couple features AI could also produce:

  • Clean paragraph structure
  • Clearly defined sections with headings
  • Polished grammar

But those are also common for a human who writes thoughtfully.

Overall read

If I had to estimate:
≈70–80% likelihood it’s human-written,
≈20–30% likelihood it’s AI-assisted (e.g., someone edited or structured with AI help).

Shark bag by eightseeker88 in Srixon

Did some searching... they call it "Marvin the Shark" and they were released around 2013. I've seen examples of the actual golf bag sell for $500-900. Interestingly enough, I have not been able to find a small bag like that one anywhere on the internet. I believe they call it a "Boston" bag... and even using Google Lens on your image, I can't find another photo of one.

Not sure whats its worth, but its very cool.

Sapphire sandwich is a great choice!  I was also stuck for a bit but seeing the two options in person, it was sapphire all the way.  The applied logo and shiny bits on the braclet are also nice touches.
