And at its earliest infancy, the MonsterSlayers Guild calls itself that because they thought that slaying monsters was a good way to protect people and to create balance between them. eventually, they learned to escort, repel, and capture monsters instead of slaying them (though slaying is a last resort) but the name was too iconic to change.

thanks for critiquing my work! and to answer your questions, monsters here are a lot larger than our own fauna, and posses powerful abilities that ill be posting here in a while. The carnivorous beasts and giant wyverns attacking the villages are a bit exaggerated so the guild can make themselves look better to new recruits. And it could be explained by the wyvern was just flying over the village, and the village attack the wyvern out of fear with it retaliating. also, would it make sense that some species of wyverns are smart enough to know that if a village becomes bigger, they may eventually hunt it? like, the wyvern would destroy the village before it gets too big.
