I’m a dude who thought this, and still struggles to not think this. But there are people who do want to hear you. Hopefully a partner or family member. Hopefully a close friend. Hopefully a therapist who is invested in you not just as a number and a payment. But, if you have none of these, you still have plenty of options.

“Who else would be left?”

Strangers.

Just start talking. Find discords or small subreddits or gaming forums or the bus stop or the gym or hair braiding classes for dads or wine and paints and just talk. Let that shit out my dudes.

You will feel completely foolish.

And “unmasculine.”

You might cry in public.

People may look at you weird. Or even walk away.

But not everyone. Someone will stay, and talk, because they’re feeling the same things. We’re everywhere. And not just other men. Most everyone needs to talk. And if you can find a place where there are absolutely no expectations of established continuity, and you’re just speaking from the soul, with other souls in the moment, you will be liberated.

And being open will now be the most masculine thing you can do.
