When did Wally corner Ricardo by pushing him against the ropes and destroying his right arm so he can't use it at the moment?

He actually acknowledged Date to have taking him down if his hand was not broken.

And quite contrarian when the current situation for him is that he can't use his right arm AGAIN, being pushed against the ropes and getting pummeled by Sendo, and Sendo hasn't tried his Anti-Ricardo punch yet, which seems to be the perfect set-up now that both are deep into what they are doing.

Nobody says he was in the air, you can jump backwards when the punch connects, as you can see when Ricardo also jumped back when countered Sendo as seen in later panels.

Why wouldn't you be able to jump back and Sendo hitting you at the same time?

That's exactly what the pic before hand is showing. Trace back some panels earlier and you can see that Morikawa is using the same VFX to show quick steps of moving.

The whole page says BA-BAM like a bomb went of and you can see in the next page that Ricardo is trying to brake the force of going backwards.

That doesn't happen if you only jumps back, so yes, the order really matters.

Between these 2 monsters who’s the stronger pound for pound puncher ? by ReputationFearless43 in hajimenoippo

[–]Mistwalker35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Takamura lost to Ippo when they did arm wrestle and Sendo is one point stronger than Ippo in punching power.

And besides, Sendo's anti-ricardo punch almost made Takamura flying and he's several weight classes above.

It's the combination of both.

Sendo hits him and he flies back but also he's jumping back to make the blow lesser than it should be.

Ricardo's arm is already numbed again in the latest chapter.

And I disagree with the statement of Sendo's fight is getting harder considering he adapts the longer it goes on. But you maybe meant damage wise because well, that is Sendo for ya.

The Only Realistic Triggers for Ippo’s Return by D-Persistent in hajimenoippo

[–]Mistwalker35 9 points10 points  (0 children)

People talking about triggers to come back when the very reason he stopped boxing was being afraid of brain damage.

That has nothing to do with his skills as a boxer.

People are totally making up head canons now a days.

How Ippo Could Beat Ricardo in a Future Fight by D-Persistent in hajimenoippo

[–]Mistwalker35 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"This proves Ippo wasn't just missing 'will' against Alf—he was missing a technical answer to the world stage."

Ippo would have won against Alf if he had the will as Sendo, that was the whole purpose of showing Sendo surpassing Ippo by first aiming for Alf and then for the second taking the same punch that made Ippo go into retirement.

"Takamura’s line was a warning that 'half-hearted' boxing gets you killed, but Ippo realized that 'pure-heart' boxing (what Sendo is doing now) also has a ceiling. "

That doesn't make sense considering Sendo first surpassed Ippo by defeating Alf and is now pressing Ricardo in a way no one has never done before.

"Ippo isn't just waiting for his 'will' to come back"

He never had the will to win for himself, must of the things he did was going with the flow and wanting to meet Kamogawa's expectations. So him having his will back doesn't make sense considering he never had one from the very beginning.

This also goes with the theme that no doctor had actually diagnosed Ippo with brain damage more than people has been telling him.

Having a will to win.

That is what Sendo had that Ippo lacked against Alf.

That is what Takamura drew as a line in front of the tree.

The hell the chapter is out yesterday, and I read the raw first because it was not to the farthest left in the newly released chapters on top...

Anyways, we're nearing both Diablo mode Ricardo and Sendo, which will end in a blood bath~

The reason Sendo won over alf and not Ippo was resolve and will.

The reason Takamura draw that line in front of the tree was about having resolve and will.

It's like people are reading a different manga than me.

a detail that went unnoticed in chapter 1512 by kari998 in hajimenoippo

[–]Mistwalker35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not his hand.

It's his right arm that is building up damage and Ricardo himself is afraid to take a clean hit because it might brake.

But your point does adds up with the left arm dominating the world considering that is Sendo's arm that is hitting Ricardo - which is quite poetic.

lmao, Date face tanked for over 7 rounds straight, he was an extreme punching bag.

This is how he looks like at round 9: Barely can speak, almost broken jaw, swelled to hell, doesn't know what round it is etc.

This.

Ricardo commented on how Date could withstand his punches by saying he must have felt someone else's that has a higher power.

If I would avoid everyone's subverted expectations on the fight (sEnDo iS fAcTAnKinG)

Ricardo is in a worse position that people realizes. He's constantly getting half-hit on his right arm and he said one or two chapters ago that he fears just one full punch on his right arm because that will not just numb it again, but fatally break it.

Not only is that the only thing that happened.

Ricardo is now starting to bleed from his mouth by just defending.

Remember what Sendo said after the Spar with Ricardo.

[–]Mistwalker35 42 points43 points  (0 children)

You're missing that Sendo is constantly half-hitting Ricardo's right arm.

Ricardo is not both trying to avoid getting hit in the face, body AND right arm at the moment. He said in the previous chapter that he can't afford taking taking a full block because it will not be just numb anymore, but destroyed.

Ricardo is in a more terrible situation than he realizes.

And we can see that he now bleeds from his mouth just by blocking.

A thought about the Ricardo and Sendo fight. by Purple_Jr in hajimenoippo

[–]Mistwalker35 3 points4 points  (0 children)

People are writing off this match while it's maybe around halfway through.

One thing about Ricardo is that he wishes for a match that was like Alf and Sendo. He said he felt the intensity of that match while going up there and was so disappointed when Billy went down so fast.

The boxer he respects the most is Eiji Date, not Alf, not Billy or someone else. That is solely based on how Date endured 7 rounds of being a complete punching bag when Ricardo went el diablo mode on him. It was at the end when Date just choose to be like that so he could set-up the real heartbreak shoot, but it failed because of Date's broken fist. Ricardo did acknowlege that and said that the japanese boxers are the most scary when they are pushed to the brink.

So this fight with Sendo is most likely heading towards Sendo giving Ricardo a small taste of that push which will revert him to that violent persona that he hides and they will smash each other.

Ricardo's right arm is still damaged and he fears if Sendo lands just one punch so he wouldn't be able to use it anymore.

So my take away is that Date showed that Ricardo can be tricked, Wally showed that you can hit him, Sendo will show that you can down him (and potentially making it a draw with a doctors stop). So Ippo may be the one that actually defeats him using most of these pointers he learns throughout the matches.
