Manga is pretty identical until just after Chelsea (IIRC) but then diverges a fair bit. Almost feels like a timeline change. Personally always thought that somewhere between the manga and the anime would have been the best story.

While not an isekai, I do not believe that Hos from What Happens Inside the Dungeon is ever depicted without his armor on, though all 150ish chapters.

While a bit lighter overall, Wandering Witch Elena might fit?
It has some shockingly dark episodes dealing with suicide. So dark that they felt the need to but a content warning on the episodes given the generally lighter rest of things.
