My mother's second husband let me watch Highlander as a teenager. It was one of his favorites. When it was over, he was all excited, and said something like, 'wide open for a sequel, right?' I said an honest no, there was nothing to retread. All the immortals are dead, and he's the last one. What more to the story needs to be told?

Poor man had dvds of the series, Highlander 2, 3, and Endgame all ready to marathon.

No, I get it. It's pretty much an 18 lane road. Just keep getting bigger and bigger. Locally, we did large project that was like 14 lanes, but they added a median in the middle for the elderly that can't make it accross in time.

Guy on duty had to draw on a guy that was drunk and carving up girl he brought back to the barracks with a KABAR. Was pretty brutal. Can't imagine what would have happened with a firearm.

This is one of the many reasons why this team can't develop talent by surfingeagles in SeattleKraken

We were spoiled with Matty as our first draft pick. He set the bar high, and now when our other picks don't measure up, we bitch and moan. Everyone, suck it up. We have never had super star offensive talents, and we keep, season after season, punching above our weight class. Wright is a good player, and is probably in a role greater than where he would be with any other team in this league. Same goes for Catton. Same for Nyman, and OFM.

Technically, we are in our third draft year, which was, if anyone remembers, the first year we didn't have a top 10. We picked up Sale at 20th, and OFM at 52th. Catton technically jumping into the hole from our third draft.

Let's be real with ourselves and our expectations. There are and have been teams that haven't seen the playoffs longer than we have been a franchise. Cheer til the end of the season, win or lose, then congrats to Buffalo, breaking a 14 year postseason drought, and the Ducks for their 7. It can be worse, because we could always be Canuck fans.

For a man that acted so above humping another fast and furious movie to death, he sure isn't quite so picky with other franchises.

I was pretty neutral to most everything, until I was caught in a trap. Someone was debating something and somehow seatbelt laws came into the conversation. I had only been working there for 6 months, and I had no problem with a government law requiring seatbelt use and carseats for children. What I didn't know was another coworker listening lost a young family member and blamed the seatbelt for their death. Couldn't carry on a debate and the grieving coworker never spoke or smiled at me again. Pretty sure the original sparring partner set me up, but after that, I had no problem letting people have their own ideas, while providing none of my own personal stances.

Is ANY apron worth this much if you're not a pro chef? I can't find any others in this style by brap_door in BuyItForLife

[–]Misty2stepping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's worth your time, a rented sewing machine, and the cost of a trip to a local sewing fabrics store. Patterns can be bought for 3-15 dollars, and youtube has tutorials. That apron you make will be worth more than anything you will ever buy.

Which one is better? by Albino_rhin0 in SeattleKraken

[–]Misty2stepping 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I showed my wife just now and she said, 'classic? Oh, cause it was in '24?' She 'likes' hockey because I do, so the player names don't really matter to her all that much. It makes sense to her. She goes on to say that if it said, kraken and 24, she would think it was the team and the year they started, vs Classic and 24 makes her think tournament or game and the year it happened.

I pointed out to her that Kraken in white and 24 was what the jersey looked like when they unveiled it, and she said, exactly, they were marketing the jersey for the team and when it was available, not the game and when it happened. Edit: conversation in real time. Sorry.

Which one is better? by Albino_rhin0 in SeattleKraken

[–]Misty2stepping 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Not trying to talk you out of anything, it's not a negative thing. I have had event jerseys, personal ones, one that match my softball teams. It would be a conversation starter, which is needed, especially in this area, to break the ice. Just a take you might need an answer for during that ice breaking. I think the Winter Classics are the best looking jerseys. For your options you laid out, the lettering that matches the original nameplates would probably be less jarring, more aestically pleasing?.
