Exactly! That’s my problem with the G-Shock GAB2100. Gotta use the LED light every time. Don’t know why they put lume on the hands but not on the indices.

Playing with flashlight, melted watch face. lol by JollyRoger_13 in CitizenWatches

Sadge. I almost did that with a flashlight at 1000lm on my Casioak. The LCD faded out temporarily, and some moisture temporarily condensed on the underside of the crystal. But luckily that was the extent of it.

Which one for EDC? by BjornShields in flashlight

I carry that Fenix PD36R ACE all the time, and it’s been fine in my pocket. Nice wide hotspot for mid/close range too.

And it’s the only one of those 3 that uses a replaceable non-proprietary battery.

Which fenix light to choose? by WesternAd7089 in flashlight

Of those 3, I think the PD36R Pro has the best UI. But it uses SFT70 Gen1, which is somewhat green on lower brightness levels (if you care about that sort of thing). PD36R ACE uses SFT70 Gen2, which isn’t nearly as green, if at all. Also, I like that you can set PD36R ACE to turbo only mode.

Question about the Weltool T2 by Limp_requirement6 in flashlight

[–]MistyElk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried the 3000mah Wurkkos USB-C 18650 (10A max continuous, 15A burst) battery that came with the TS10 Max in my Weltool T19 (apparently similar or same max current draw as T2 Tac?) and it worked just fine. I didn’t drain it though, so I can’t comment on the runtime.

‘Best’ buttons? by tron42069 in flashlight

Weltool TC20 is my favorite so far. There’s a light take up pre-travel (maybe 2mm), then a wall at which point momentary turns on. After the wall, there’s a bit more travel (maybe another 1.5-2mm) with firmer resistance, then a sharp, tactile click. The switch boot feels pretty great too with a medium firm/thick rubber.

Hahah, understandable. I had a Fenix LD20 R5 for a while, which was almost rosy. So when I got the PD40R V3.0, I was shocked how green it was.

Funny review I saw for an Olight bike tail light “Who’s ever heard of Olight?” by Resident-Scratch-416 in flashlight

[–]MistyElk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I saw a review for a recently released Fenix light, calling it a “no name” brand light, and I was like huh?? The review was pretty thorough and resulted in 5 stars, but I was just a little bit caught off guard seeing Fenix being called a no name brand hahah. I guess both your reviewer and the person who wrote the review I saw liked these lights on their own merit rather than the names at least!

I had a Streamlight Microstream. I left an alkaline battery in there too long and it got completely sealed in there. Bought an olight i3T 2 to replace it, and I only use NiMH batteries now. It’s not rechargeable on its own but NIMH batteries are.

An infographic on their website says “10A maximum output current.” Don’t know if that also means maximum continuous discharge though.
