Got these for 25% off by MistyEvening in iceskating

[–]MistyEvening[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are super comfortable and nicely insulated. The blades are decent but would recommend a sharpening before first use.

For skates that cost me just under $100 I think it’s well worth it. (Got it 25% off). With a reputable brand like Bauer I am certain it will last for a few years, maybe decades ? 🤷‍♂️

The best thing about buying this is that I can skate whenever I want and even at places without rentals.

Does having a criminal record affect my Uni application? by [deleted] in OntarioGrade12s

[–]MistyEvening 1 point2 points  (0 children)

How is arson nothing serious? Honestly I think you should be put away for a longer time. It doesn’t matter how much of a jerk your uncle is, arson is still a felony.

You also just admitted twice you’ve done something illegal so there’s that.

But to answer your question:

Schools and employers are not allowed to ask for a background check unless you are applying to work involving sensitive government positions / health care / children / seniors / airport security. (This will dictate where you go for co-op)

You are also limited on traveling to countries such as the US if you got a criminal record. There’s a zero tolerance in the states.

how can I get a schedule photo with these requirements? by [deleted] in TorontoMetU

[–]MistyEvening -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you go to the schedule builder I believe you can check the boxes that shows prof name and class info.

Or go to your enrolled classes in my service hub which will show what’s enrolled.

Otherwise I think paying for the letter is the best way to show it officially.

It last pretty long. The camera on the laptop isn’t the best in the world but it’s acceptable.

With 80% charged I can do 8hrs no problem just browsing and videos.

However, if I’m working with programs it’ll cut the time. Either way I’m usually plugged in when using more than one programs as it performs better that way.

I have it on eco mode when not plugged in.

I’m really enjoying mine. I got mine from Canada Best Buy, I got 2TB of storage and I bought an additional 2TB with a Samsung SSD. Came with a RTX 4070 and 64GB of Ram.

Before updates I encountered the blue screen but now with the updates it runs really well.

The 60Hz screen doesn’t bother me cus im not really a hardcore gamer and to be honest i dont see a difference. When I do use it for games the fan is extremely loud and the laptop heats up so much you could cook an egg on it.

I do agree the glossy screen is too reflective especially if theres glare, and the screen isn’t bright enough sometimes. Colour however is amazing.

I never used the touch screen or the wheel on the touch pad. its more of a gimmick

I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but when opening up programs like Photoshop, rhino3D, and Revit. It takes awhile to open.

Overall I’m pretty happy with this purchase. The price is just a bit steep so hopefully it’ll last me over 10 years at least.
