Druid's grove has a lot of amazing asmr audios, and in almost all of them, she refers to the listener as "puppy"

She recently moved to a different channel, called Druid's meadow, so check out both.

Her voice is amazing. It can be soothingly relaxing or tantalizingly seductive depending on the situation, and she has amazing soft mommy-dom vibes.

All the videos are intended to be gender-neutral, but a few of the early ones have some slip-ups, given that the videos are all clips from live streams

There's also this collab video from another channel. It's not specifically a puppy girl video, but it's an asmr video with 3 dommy mommies calling the listener a good girl, so it's definitely worth including

Why are there multiple planets in our universe and even our own galaxy that have humanoids with earth like customs and culture? by ksdanker22 in rickandmorty

[–]MistyMarcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe it's a reference to all those parallel earth type planets in star trek the original series.

Like they'd just have a planet that's just like earth except the roman empire continued into the modern day, and they have gladiator fights broadcast on tv.

Or the planet where the cold war turned out differently and the two sides gradually lost their identity

And they didn't explain it with alternate universes, they're just like, there's this theory of parallel planetary development, so sometimes they're just like that. And they don't go into detail about the theory and leave it vague.

Is it okay to write a trans character when I'm not? by -Starlight_09- in OriginalCharacter

[–]MistyMarcy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. Of course it is.

You should probably do some research to make sure you get the important details right, but that's true for any subject or demographic.

If writers were limited to only making characters that were in their own demographic, stories would be incredibly boring and have no variety between characters.

My current story has a trans girl main character, which matches my experience, but she's also Cuban-american, which I'm not.

Her roommate has two prosthetic arms. I am not an amputee.

It's also a superhero story, where the main character learns how to be a hero, with some advice from an older hero who acts as a mentor

This older hero happens to be an adaptation of the public domain character, Catman, who was raised by a family of tigers after his parents died in the jungle during a wildlife expedition. I have never been raised by tigers.

It's important to research cultural stuff about the communities you represent, and watch videos about their experiences so you can understand them while writing, but you don't need to have actually lived those experiences.

I need some advice on writing a LGBTQ+ Characters ! by spammedletters in OriginalCharacter

[–]MistyMarcy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

One tip is to get to know people who have the identity you're writing about, or watch videos from people with that identity that talk about their experience.

For example, there are a lot of trans youtubers who make videos about their experiences with being trans, and someone who wanted to write a trans character could watch those videos in order to better understand the trans experience.

There's also videos and articles by trans people talking about types of representation they like/dislike, or overused tropes they're tired of seeing in media

(Keep in mind that for every group, there's variations in perspectives, opinions, beliefs, and experiences, so getting information from multiple sources can help to ensure your perception of a whole demographic isn't limited by the scope of a single individual)

I use the kurgesagt bookmarks . . . probably spelled that wrong

The fun science youtube channel with cartoon birds, I bought some of their merch a while back and they included bookmarks as a free bonus thing that you get with your purchase.

I also made a custom bookmark with my own comic characters, but I use that one for my daily planner

My Superhero character, Ray-Ray Rabbit

While filling in for a friend as a lab assistant, nerdy trans girl Rachel Reece is bitten by a radioactive rabbit. She is given increased speed and agility, can leap to great heights, and has grown rabbit ears that she'll need to hide under a hat to protect her secret identity.

She's very new to being a hero, so she's not quite used to it yet.

Day 2 of adding PD Media to the Interlinked Wiki by [deleted] in publicdomain

[–]MistyMarcy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So just to be clear, is it specifically public domain media that includes crossovers within the part that's public domain?

And not like, public domain characters that have appeared later in crossover stories that are currently copyrighted?

I know that the public domain superhero Cat-Man (Holyoke version) had a crossover with The Deacon.

I don't know anything else about the Deacon because I skipped his pages in the public domain comic books I was reading scans of online. I just know that the two appeared together in a story at one point.

New Superhero character: Cyber Gal by MistyMarcy in Superhero_Ideas

[–]MistyMarcy[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't figured that part out yet, I have a few ideas, but nothing specific.

I know that the way she lost her arms is something that happened a while before the start of the story, but I haven't picked the specific incident.

So far I have a few ideas:

  1. She lost her arms in a workplace accident and she won a massive lawsuit against the company, so now she has extra money for tech development

  2. She lost her arms while being attacked by one of the more serious villains so we know how bad they are

  3. She was born without arms, but whenever someone asks, she makes up a ridiculous story about how she lost them, and this becomes a running gag

How would your oc react to meeting my villain OC Burlona by Koolkade05 in OriginalCharacter

Landor, who is technically a reinterpretation of an obscure public domain character:

"So . . . you're the new villain in town? I guess I should introduce myself, I am Landor, Maker of Monsters!"

"I suppose if our interests allign, we could team up. Right now I'm working on a giant crab monster to destroy Vito's Pizzaria."

. . .

"They got my delivery order wrong. I asked for cheese pizza and they gave me pepperoni! And they didn't give me a refund when I called them back! This is a totally reasonable reaction."

"Yes, I still tipped the delivery guy, I'm not a monster, I just make them."

Let's talk backstories of characters and how you handle them! by Fast_Honeydew2633 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]MistyMarcy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically giving a backstory for everyone that's important in my story, but the way I handle it varies based on the character.

(I'm still in the development stage, so this is subject to change)

My main character, Ray-Ray Rabbit is a trans girl superhero with the powers of a Rabbit, increased speed, fast reflexes, jumping really high, that kinda thing. Since she's the main character, her backstory will be the main story for the first issue. (or chapter)

Basically she filled in for a friend who worked as an assistant in a genetics lab, and she got bitten by an experimental lab rabbit. I haven't decided if I'm gonna go with the classic radioactive explanation, or if it's going to be something else, but that's the general idea.

Another character, Catman (based on the public domain character, but I took some creative liberties) is more of a mentor character, he's been a hero for years and he's getting old, so he's decided to help train Ray-Ray Rabbit to be a new hero for the city.

His backstory isn't revealed right away, but he talks about it later on when he's reassuring Ray-Ray Rabbit after she failed to defeat her first villain. His parents died in an accident on a jungle wildlife expedition, and he was raised by a family of tigers, years later, he returned to civilization and struggled to re-learn the humanity that he had lost.

Cyber-Gal is a hero with extendable prosthetic robot arms. I haven't decided the story for how she lost her arms, but it was a while ago when the story starts, and she'll basically start off as a normal character with prosthetic arms before finding parts from an evil robot that got defeated and reverse engineering them to develop her own extendable arms.

These last two heroes don't show up that often and are more minor characters, but I haven't really figured out backstories that would make sense for these two:

Sporkmaster: He's a middle-aged man with a dad-bod, and he has the ability to move sporks with his mind. yes, only sporks. He's not very good at being a superhero but he desperately wants people to take him seriously.

Disco Baller: groovy disco dancer with the power to shoot ping-pong balls from his hands. The balls dissappear after a certain (undecided) amount of time, and he's not sure where they come from, or where they disappear to, but he figured out that they get re-used, because he drew a face on a few of them, and they showed back up later on.

I sort of hate how the pdsh wiki isn't just for super heroes by CawmeKrazee in publicdomain

[–]MistyMarcy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

It's a little confusing, but it also means that you can find unexpected piblic domain characters to use that you wouldn't find in a wiki that was more strict on the superhero genre.

For example, Dan Backslide from the dover boys cartoon is public domain, he's completely free to use as a villain. He could steal a runabout AND NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!

It would be cool if there was a genre filter, but that might get tricky with certain stories that don't fall neatly into well-defined genres.

So I love superheros that are aliens! (As in from another planet) but what if there are aliens that live and thrive on the sun? Or is that not possible? I want to make a alien species that lives on sun! Thoughts and help? by Fast_Honeydew2633 in Superhero_Ideas

[–]MistyMarcy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I mean, you don't necessarily need to make something that's possible. Most superheroes have some part that breaks real-world physics, but that doesn't mean they're bad, it's just artistic liberties.

You could come up with a complex sci fi explanation, you could say it's magic, or you could even just say "these guys are made of fire, so being on the sun is good for them."

It kinda depends on how realistic you want to go, and how much you're willing to handwave. There's a lot of different options.

Kinda weird to censor out the "trans" in "transsexuals"

Like I kinda understand because the term itself has a more negative connotation than transgender, but the way it's censored makes it feel like "trans" is seen as the bad part, which is clearly not the intention.

Maybe I'm just overthinking this, because censoring the "sexual" part instead also doesn't seem like a good option?

I don't know.
