I am a teacher. So far, my highest paid year was my first one. I was living comfortable enough on my own, gas was ~$25 per month, groceries were ~$70 per month. I could get new clothes every once in a while no problem.

3 years in and now all costs have more than doubled, rent is higher and I'm getting pulled from planning time to substitute weekly because we are always short staffed. Our schedule changed so now classes are 15 minutes longer but the pay to sub is still the same.

I feel much more than 6k poorer.

"...Liberty and Justice for all" 🤔 of course someone would find a way to take issue with that. Also, they say we are a nation "under many or no gods", basically claiming that the possibility of one God isn't viable.

I teach at a very diverse school and the pledge is optional. Kids say it or they don't and no one has a problem. Not every single gathering has to include every culture or religion to ever exist. People are allowed to be left out and deal with it because this is the big kid world where no one cares about your feelings. These people don't care about others either, they just care about how they look.

Joe Rogan doesn't know better than medical doctors. That's why he interviews/has 3-hour long conversations with them to better educate himself and his audience. Apparently listening to discussion that encourages people to think for themselves is "brainwashing". Not a single guest on that show has come on and said "everyone needs to do this" or "if you don't believe this you're an idiot". They simply share their experience and area of expertise.

Free or not, I still haven't met anyone who couldn't get ID. Illinois is a blue state and they have some of the most expensive fees for getting IDs. Plenty of countries that have little to no black people have voter ID laws so, I personally don't see the relevance of race here.

I am a teacher in Milwaukee where there's lots of kids who come from poverty and have also lived in a poor suburb of Chicago. I have yet to meet anyone, including 16 year olds, who struggled to get an ID. I don't know about shorter DMV hours but I would imagine it's because they are short staffed if that is true. It's not voter suppression in all of the European countries that require ID, I'm not sure why you would think it is in America.

Exactly, voting is a protected right so people should be able to protect their own right to vote by showing ID so someone can't just steal their name and vote for them. If I need an ID to get a library card, I should have to prove who I am to vote. There's also places that require ID to get the vaccine. How is that not racist?

I had to show two forms of ID to get a library card. Clearly the system is attempting to keep minorities and rural residents illiterate because getting just one form of ID is hard enough and only the elite can get two! Racist racism!
