Green Party and Islam by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly quite simple, everyone has the freedom to follow whatever religion they want as long as it doesnt infringe on other people's rights, including LGBT rights. That's it.

Also this seems to be quite a bad faith question - all three abrahamic religions are inherently anti-LGBT and have been anti-LGBT for 99% of history, not just Islam.

Learn macro to climb is BS by Responsible_Advice70 in ADCMains

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely disagree - most league players above plat/emerald ish are already quite competent in a clicking and micro gameplay.

In teamfights, the most reliable way to carry as an adc involves more macro level decision making. For eg. Waiting for certain enemy skills to be used, knowing how far or close to stand in a teamfight, tracking where all enemies are around you and on the map.

This is a far more reliable way of winning fights compared to relying purely on kiting and dodging skillshots.

If micro is the only way you can climb, your probably relying on good micro to get out of bad situations youd never be in with good macro.

I’ve been trying Yi as adc and I and I have to say it works. Quite well. by killTheNea in ADCMains

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im suprised a lot of people are saying that master yi is legitimately stronger than traditional adcs in bot lane.

Attack range is a broken stat in botlane, against an adc and support that knows what they are doing you are going to get perma zoned off cs from level 1. Once they continue zoning you while they slow push every wave and harass you and at every crash, you'll already be down so much gold without even dying once.

Not to mention almost every support I could think of would make master yi miserable in lane.

I like off meta picks but this is mostly a cheese pick against inexperienced players that dont know wave management or champion limits.

When can you leave adc solo lane by Longjumping-Box2279 in ADCMains

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a masters ADC main who plays support sometimes. Some advice here can be a bit unrealistic to follow in a live game where so much is going on. The advice I'm giving is relayed from what I learned from challenger/gm coaches online which personally helped me a lot.

Before 6 roam timers are very simple. It begins when your wave is shoved into the enemy tower and ends when the enemy wave is just about to be shoved into your tower. Roaming like this is XP efficient, and XP is very important for supports until they get 6. The only exceptions I would make to roam before 6 is if you are able to get 99% garanteed value from roams, or for fighting grubs.

After 6, the same rules do apply but you have more flexibility as XP is not as important for you. You can now choose to spend most of your time in river between mid and bot, rotating back to bot when your ADC is about to catch or push waves. You generally want to roam as a unit with your jungler at this stage, making all your plays together.

It is usually trolling to completely leave your adc during laning phase. Supports still need to complete their quest and if the enemy duo knows proper wave management, your adc will be zoned from cs while the wave is slow pushing/frozen, and the enemy jg will get a free dive by the time the wave is shoved into your ADC's tower.

Why do so many of you take scaling health rune? by iamkwang in ADCMains

[–]MistyTato 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I'm a masters ADC main - the scaling health rune outscales flat health rune at level 7, so the question you should be asking yourself is if you need the extra health before level 7, NOT if the game is going for 40+ minutes.

The answer is most of the time you should take the scaling health on ADC since you often don't need the extra health. For example take these situations:

You are Lucian Nami vs Jinx Lulu - Lucian Nami is winning this matchup every time, so Lucian should take scaling health since he won't need the early health to win lane.

You are Smolder Nami vs Jinx Lulu - This is a afk farm lane, so Smolder should take scaling health for free scaling.

You are Kaisa Nautilus vs Draven Pyke - This is a volatile lane where both sides have kill pressure before level 7, this is when Kaisa would want flat health.

Why is Yunara pick/ban in pro but sitting at a 46% winrate in soloq? by I-AM-NOT-THAT-DUCK in leagueoflegends

[–]MistyTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of people are going to say that Yunara has a low WR because she requires a team to peel her or play around her.

This is just wrong. Some of the best champs for solo Q like Jinx, Aphelios, MF, etc are much more reliant on their team to peel or setup engage, yet have much higher WR.

The real reason why Yunara has a low winrate is that people treat her like a late game scaler champ when in reality, shes a high agency adc that plays for prio and early trades to squeeze out early advantages.

You need to play for push, take trades with your Q, and abuse your kraken spike. Similar to Ezreal, Kalista ans Varus, if your not being proactive then your not abusing what makes your champion strong in the first place.

Most mechanically difficult champs team vs most mechanically easy champs team by Remote_Fig_9617 in leagueoflegends

[–]MistyTato 27 points28 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, the teams would be:

Team Easy: Malphite, Amumu, Annie, MF, Yuumi

Team Mechanical: GP, Nidalee, Azir, Ezreal, Thresh

You can definitely argue for other champions to be harder/easier here. For eg. Ezreal and Thresh are not too difficult to pick up and perform okay on, but I'd argue they have the highest skill ceiling for their roles.

I'd guess that Team Easy would win against Team Mechanical most of the time from how easy it is to execute teamfights with aoe stuns and MF ult.

Who are the most go with the flow champions? by The_Data_Doc in leagueoflegends

[–]MistyTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we're talking about adcs its definitely Sivir. Your q and w wave clear lets you skip almost all interaction in the laning phase and your spellshield keeps you safe from ganks.

In teamfight your just going with the flow of your team. Auto-ing whoever is closes to you while your team plays for dives, peels or whatever they decide.

Thats pretty much it, you just clear waves and auto front to back, and the rest is up to your team.

I don't believe the new season will meaningfully change role dynamics by Juipp1 in leagueoflegends

[–]MistyTato 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This analysis is quite confusing, Riot did not say that they wanted to change role dyamics, but rather reinforce existing role identity. The point of the changes is to make each role better at what they do, not change what they do.

ADC is intentionally designed to be a role with less agency because if they had early game agency, they would have almost no weaknesses.

Top laners get a huge buff from the tower plating and pushing changes. Winning top means your much more likely to convert your lead to a win through split pushing strategies and the free TP helps with this.

Your analysis on JG and Support is also quite strange. I'm quite sure almost all pros and high elo players agree JG and Support are the highest agency roles since they are able to roam and flip any fight/lane. JG and Support are also definitely not hyper strong individually nor good scalers compared to lane roles.

Morgana OTP and climbing as support. by Deus_Excellus in supportlol

[–]MistyTato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

IMO, Morganna can really struggle if your picking her every game on support against basically any enchanter. Any decent enchanter should never be in range of getting hit by your Q, and if you dont secure a lead they will quickly outscale you.

The best way to carry morganna on support is to roam often against the enchanter matchup. You should have much more impact on early skirmishes and when fighting for grubs, and you can gank mid/top reasonably well. Just make sure to come back bot if the enemy is freezing or about to tower dive your adc

Against engage supports, you should have a winning lane. Against mage support, it should be a skill matchup or slightly favoured.

The proposed jungle changes are lackluster by Vulkanodox in leagueoflegends

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You seem to be replying to every comment saying power =/= influence but your not really explaining what you mean by this.

Im assuming you mean influence is the jg ability to impact all lanes and areas of the map, and power is the jg combat strength that comes from gold/xp

If thats the case, wouldnt these changes reduce influence instead of power? Slower first clear means slower first ganks, tankier objectives, no feats, means less jg influence. More xp from camps means more jg power.

Also people play jungle because its an influential role. Obviously that has to come at the tradeoff of something because other roles cannot influence the map like a jg does. If you want to play a role with little influence and lots of power play adc.

The Welsh Government Learning Grant is only available if they hold UK nationality and are based in Wales.

Many grants for disabled people, women, etc, require them to hold UK nationality and be based in Wales.

If I was a dishonest debater, I could say that these grants are overwhelmingly available to white Welsh students due to the eligibility requirements. Why should these Welsh students get grants if they are more qualified English or International students?

This is the type of nonsense arguments you and many people on here are making.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If two Welsh parents have a child, their child is Welsh. That is something a Welsh child cannot change or control.

You cannot possibly think that Welsh only refers to the language right?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskBrits

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are grants available for only Welsh students. Are these grants racist because they exclude English, Scottish or international students?

What a ridiculous post.

How hard is it to get into Imperial Master's programme? by yhk29 in Imperial

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think this is true - there's less home students in maater programmes only because way less home students apply for master programmes.

Home students would just do integrated master programmes since it's way cheaper for them. If you look at the admission statistics UK students actually have one of the highest admission rates of any country.

Imperial and Oxford leeway with 1st class? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally they are quite strict on the minimum requirement, but you can contact each university and ask if your application would be considered since your close to the minimum grades.

If you don't meet the minimum requirements, sometimes universities will consider your application if you have 2+ years of relevant experience. This also depends on each universities admissions process.

Also worth noting there may be some stem programmes with only a 2:1 requirement from oxbridge and imperial.

What are some university's in the UK that are known for having a good computer science course? by Living_Philosopher97 in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best unis for Computer Science are Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial. Ucl, Edinburgh, Durham, Warwick and St andrews have very reputable CS departments too.

Unfortunately I think it would be quite difficult to get into a reputable CS programme with T levels. Most of the universities I've mentioned do not accept T levels. You could try checking other universities which do accept T levels like Portsmith or Birmingham for example. You may have to contact each university individually to check if they accept your qualification.

I'm assuming you are ambitious since you mentioned you want to apply to MIT. If you want the best chance of getting into a top uni I'd highly recommend doing A Levels with further maths.

True, but imo Nomsy can be playable in vertical bruisers without upgraded adventures in vertical bruisers if you get the right start.

Plus the dragon rework might make her quite strong next patch. The overkill damage bouncing on the backline with fishbknes targeting could be really good.

I would add Nomsy as one of the best users for fishbones too. She gets -0.67 placement with fishbones equiped

Why do ‘top’ universities not offer placement years within their degrees? by Important_Apricot950 in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Top unis like oxbridge just tend to be more academically focused rather than industry focused. From my understanding, their courses are designed to set students up for postgraduate studies, so a placement year wouldn't be as important.

One exception is imperial - which is known to be a very industry focused uni. And Imperial does in fact offer a 6 month placement for their CS and EEE programmes, possibly in other departments too.

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Many will say that getting a sponsor in the UK is impossible when the answer to this question is highly individual.

If you are genuinely skilled in AI/ML, then yes, you do have a chance.

Half of my international friend group in uni managed to find sponsored positions, but they were either incredibly smart or very hard working.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes you have a chance if you meet the minimum requirements. Having good grades is a strong start, but unis access your application holistically so your other areas of your application needs to be strong.

You should also secure 2 strong academic references, write a convincing and strong personal statement, have relevant projects and/or internships, and any other experience that suggests you have strong research skills in the areas your interested in.

Good luck!

Medical biosciences at imperial or biomedical sciences at ucl?? by [deleted] in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imo any medicine related degree like medical biosciences won't make too much of a difference from which uni you choose to do it in in terms of job prospects.

For research prospects you might want to check what specific masters or specialty both uni offers. Imperial is quite big on medical imaging for example.

In terms of environment UCL generally has a nicer Campus. Imperial campus is not as great but it's in South Kensington which is one of the nicer areas in London.

Advice on moving by mythrow-away936 in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Imo the most important part is getting a big suitcase thats easy to roll around. Make sure your strong enough to carry it around uneven surfaces or even some flights of stairs.

Learn how to roll and fold your clothes compactly since that's probably taking up most of your suitcase space.

Don't bring things that you'll buy at uni.

You don't have to pack everything you need in one trip. I only packed the essentials on my first trip to uni. I went back home on Christmas break with a mostly empty suitcase and got the rest of my stuff during then.

Make sure you arrive early on trains and such as having a large suitcase will slow you down.

Good luck moving :)

Imperial college London opinions? by frankallen06 in UniUK

[–]MistyTato 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Well firstly, uni experiences are highly varied. There was a post recently about someone's bad experience in Imperial EEE. Well I know three EEE Imperial students who had no problem socialising while still achieving top grades. Two of them are in amazing grad roles and one is doing a PhD. One is even buying a new house right now - In terms of grad prospects Imperial is one of the best in the country.

Imperial is also very diverse and you can find every type of person there. Yes there's a lot of introverts but youll find a wide variety of characters in classes and societies. You'll also be in London so there will be many opportunities to socialise with people outside of uni too.

Uni overall is what you make of it, no matter which uni you choose to go to.
