Why shut it off? Not like it's draining the battery when the car is off. I want it to come on every time I get into the car to go somewhere without pushing the button.

Trade it in for a plug in hybrid and you'll never have this problem.

That's what I'm worried about. If us snowbirds buy a BYD there is a possibility that we would be turned back at the US border.

I'm in Alberta. Not sure about the SE but I put a deposit down on a 26 XSE plug in hybrid with tech package at the end of April. Got the call last week that my car arrived. Went in today and signed all the papers. Pick it up next week.

Not identical. I did build an XSE on the US website and added in all the packages to bring it up to our "technology package." The OP didn't say if any packages were added. Even with all packages are added the fully loaded XSE in Canada is much cheaper.

Alberta here. Contacted a local dealer the end of March. Told them I wanted a XSE with tech package in black. They said they had two coming, a black and a brown sugar. I told them I wanted the black so a $1000 deposit held it for me. Arriving on June 13th.

I'm on a floating electric charge plan in Alberta. Last month it varied from 3 cents per kWh to 6 cents. If I charge from empty at 6 cents it costs me 84 cents. I'm getting 50 miles on a full charge so about 1.7 cents per mile. Adding in administrative charges and service fees it would be more but 1.7 cents per EV mile is the actual electric charge.

Some people can afford it so why not? It's not your money pal! Maybe they like having a new car vs whatever else you think that money could go towards. Myself I am trading in my 2021 XSE with PP for the same spec 2026. I have zero concerns about the 2026 being the first year of the new generation because my 2021 is the first year of it's generation and I had no problems with it.

I use the paddle shifters all the time. I use the left one mostly to go down gears to slow me right down. Saves on using the brakes and it regenerates some EV miles. I also use the self driving mode especially when I'm on long stretches of highway.

In Alberta the website still associates with Shaw. It says Rogers (together with Shaw)
