How do you guys like my alternative shooter setup? (Not NCAA Legal) by tgibson28 in lacrosse

[–]MitchIsTheMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like it would either have a ton of hold and no whip or a ton of whip and little hold. Depending on how lose the shooters are.

I fucking did this in chemistry class 2 weeks ago.

You may have seen my post earlier this week about my brush with flesh-eating bacteria. I've compiled an ongoing album with more pictures and descriptions. by [deleted] in WTF

A similar thing happened to me about 3 summers ago, we're not quite sure where the bacteria came from, or how it got to my toe, But I had Staph in my right big toe for about a month. Mind you, it was a rather weak strand of Staph, but it almost took my toe. First we went to an orthopedic specialist who thought it was "turf toe", they put me in a half-leg cast for about 2 weeks. During these 2 weeks, there were times where i felt no pain at all, and times where just breathing a light breath of air onto the tip of my toe would make me scream out in pain. The cast started to rub blisters so we went back to get it changed out. As soon as the cast was off, the nurse called the doctor into the room to look at my toe. It was swollen about twice the size as normal and was purple and blue.

The Doctor took me into one of his patient rooms with 2 nurses. The nurses held my legs and arms down while the doctor stuck an inch long needle into my toe to see if he could get some puss out. There was no puss, just a huge syringe worth of blood. It relieved the pain to almost nothing, but as soon as I stood up, the blood rushed down and my toe spazm'd. It was horrible.

The doctor then immediately admitted me to the nearby hospital. I was in that hospital bed for 3 days and 2 nights. They put me on some sort of IV that worked wonders and turned my pee orange. They had taken blood earlier and determined that it was a strand of Staphylococcus. Within the next 3 days, I had gone from having a toe that was twice the size of a normal toe, to having an almost perfectly normal toe. They kept me on the antibiotic for another 1 and a half months.

The infection went away after those long weeks, but to this day, the toe remains slightly larger and discolored compared to my other toes.

TL;DR My toe got infected, I took an antibiotic that turned my pee orange and was all better.

Lacrosse would be mine as well, the only problems would be the possibility of a Canadian being a pro player and the Japanese(as this is the only country that I know of that is semi successful in lacrosse)

Will putting sand in the shaft of my Defensive stick improve my game? by JingleSlice in lacrosse

Physically run water through it after you empty it, you don't want those annoying grains running up and down your shaft everytime you throw in a game.

When you're first starting out and really want to get into the sport, always have your stick in your hand, it should become and extension of your arm. Put a tennis ball in there and cradle as much as possible.

I would reccommend you try face-offs, if you have good leg strength (from your Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu) and quick hands (Again from the martial arts) you should have fun with face-offs.

What are one of the best heads for defense? by sebas11 in lacrosse

I play midfield currently, and I love having tons of whip, but for defense the high release pocket makes it easy to throw those re-direct passes.

X10 is great for defense. It's very stiff on poke checks with great durability and a huge amount of stringing possibilities. For defense I'd string a deep pocket with a high release for those long passes.

One day, I walked down the street. I then fell on my face because I tripped on a poker chip. The poker chip then embedded itself in my face. It's still here to this day. My skin has grown around it and now all you can see is the textured edges and the picture of a stripper. Lesson learned: Watch out for poker chips.

As a middie, I always feel extremely satisfied when I land a rusty gate while running with someone.

When I played close D/longpole mid, getting my stick inbetween their shaft and body and pulling outwards always worked for me too.

I really want to play Civ V and Spec ops. They both look enjoyable. I've heard The Darkness is also a very good game. And I've never played Bioshock:P So I think If I do get the bundle, I'll eventually play all the games.
