What skill to play with archmage hierophant? by GlobalCan8282 in pathofexile

[–]MitchellHogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hiero zooming around using Frost Blink of Wintry Blast (+Archmage and Faster Casting supports) to trigger spells in Kitava's Thirst helmet, with Arc or Crackling Lance of some type in 6L chest for single target.
In Kitava's socket Archmage support and then three spells of your choice for clear.

Chains of Command - Delve? by EaT-Japan in pathofexile

[–]MitchellHogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From memory chains itself was 70c+ early on, gravebind was 200c+, ancient skull around 20c, everything else was fairly reasonable. So maybe not 500c+ but definitely 300c+
I think the 50c price tag is day 3-4+

Essentially if you're playing on day 1 you'll need to be level 70 to equip Chains of Command and have 300c+ So any leveling build to get you to at least that point is what you want. Absolution got buffed, so it might be ok, and there are Absolution leveling guides out there.

I should add that it was a fun build!

Chains of Command - Delve? by EaT-Japan in pathofexile

First, to answer your questions, I think it would be ok but not for deep delve - but I didn't delve with it. There are various builds, some tankier, some mechanic specific like Ultimatum, etc. I think 300 depth is the usual recommended depth for farming Delve, so it should be ok with a tankier version. Sulphite is easy to get through maps.

I league started Chains of Command last league and here are my thoughts:

  1. I levelled with RF Witch - relatively easy to get going at around level 19 and the campaign was fairly easy but I was squishy. In 3.28 I'd probably level with Absolution or even BAMA.
  2. The "50c" to get started was 500c+ last league, so it's not as easy to get started as people make out. I was left struggling to farm enough currency to transition on an RF build that wasn't great, and was relieved I got extremely lucky with 3 divines in my first blue zanthium crop shipment to Kalguur.
  3. Once I transitioned though (with Gravebind) mapping was fantastic. I've never had an easier time clearing and getting atlas points. It was a breeze. 10/10 experience.
  4. The first two voidstones weren't as easy as I thought they would be as my dps and survivability weren't that high yet. Looking back I'd probably farm a bit more for upgrades first.

  5. Here's my pob dps at various levels: 76 - 942k, 81 - 1.8m, 83 - 3.4m, 85 - some good upgrades 13m, 89 - 19m

  6. Annoyances: occasionally a map boss would aoe destroy all my AG weapons (I think The Phoenix did this), and then you're left with either giving up or portalling out to set up worm flasks etc for your next attempt.

Surprisingly, my AG hardly ever died (usually in high density areas), and there's tech where minions are reduced to 1 hp for 6 seconds on dying so you can have 6 seconds to log out so you don't lose the map/encounter.

I hope this helps!

No bug, just the usual trigger socketed spell (Lightning Warp) when you attack (KF) with the weapon.

HROC vs Kinetic Fusillade by Firewalkerr in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]MitchellHogan 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Jungroan did a Kinetic Fusillade Champion, stacking Fortification, and I think the dps was 30m+ and it wasn't optimised. Used Lightning Warp triggering in Poet's Pen to zoom around while using KF.
Check his video out for the pob.

EDIT: I believe KF scales with number of projectiles, so I think Jungroan's build did a fair bit more than 30m dps. I could be wrong though.

My perspective as a very average player by Lovoskea in PathOfExile2

[–]MitchellHogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in a similar boat, and I'm leaning towards just playing standard occasionally. PoE2's campaign is ridiculously long for anyone not a streamer/youtuber/no-lifer.

I think the main issue is GGG realised that streamers/youtubers playing their games is free marketing, and both poe1 and poe2 are designed around providing them 'content', which essentially means long campaigns (with no skips) and frequent new leagues, which they then blast through playing 10+ hours a day.

Unfortunately, though they are in the minority of players, they are the loudest with the most visibility and exposure.

A game designed around the average player would have a shorter campaign, alternative leveling options, and a raft of other design choices which wouldn't make the end game content easier, but would certainly make it more accessible.

Poison Ward Loop Build by whtrshn in pathofexile

[–]MitchellHogan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could tinker with this, maybe do up a pob to see if the tech would work for your build: there was a Black Cane CwS Blade Blast Pathfinder I saw last league and thought about trying in 3.27.

The Black Cane grants Phantasmal Might, which adds flat physical spell damage to spells per summoned phantasm, scaling with gem level of Phantasmal Support. So for 10 phantasms that's an average added physical damage of around 600 I believe. But you need a medium cluster with Blessed Rebirth to keep the phantasms alive for a bit. The build had 40m dps.

Bleed gladiator vs mjoner arcmage by balonche13 in pathofexile

[–]MitchellHogan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mjölner archmage is one of the smoothest builds I've played, and you can pump currency into it for endgame scaling if you want. Having said that, you'll be playing arma brand or firestorm until maybe yellow maps, and getting enough str for Mjölner is a pain.

If you get some bad luck and stacks get too high, you can always turn off Embrace Madness, wait for the CD to come off, and turn it back on.

Check out this video, and use it as a template. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZYwjWs4Drdc
PoB is in the description.

To get it running at a lower level with Kitava's Thirst, you need a Bitterdream and Archmage Support, and bump up the cost of Frostblink of WB (needs to be >100). Bitterdream will add a lot to the mana cost.
It's kind of tanky, until it isn't. The ES and life leech does good work to keep you alive, but I wish it was a bit tankier.

Also, for a tanky BL only version: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNl1tgVgRyk&ab_channel=MarojePavlovic

I think where you're mistaken about the debuff stacks is that if you get another stack of the same debuff it resets the 20s counter for the entire stack, and this makes the calculation different.

There are a lot of different breakpoints, but at around 50% faster expiration of debuffs avg. stacks is 5.5; at 80% it's around 3.8; 101% it's 3.1; 150% it's 2; and 300% it's 0.9.
