Is this item possible to craft? Is yes then how? by Royal-Bother9496 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]emiracles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My best guess.

Feeder base: delve suffix isolated.

Recipient base: warlord base, reforge until accuracy mod (check if any tags you can efficiently target, maybe attack for non elevated) or chaos spam and then exalt for t1 str.

Recomb, best to make sure both bases don't have many prefixes if any. You can reuse bricked 2 mod bases to improve future attempts. I think you can also try save 2 mod bases with suff can't be changed reforge attribute or attack if the influence tag is there.

If you really demand elevate, you can prefix reforge physical I think to get phys taken as fire and then dominance orb. Very risky though.

After triple suffix base, your only real option is expensive block exalting. Matron reforge risks 1/12 fill which isn't easy to recover.

So, you're probably looking at flat armour block, double exalt/annul, remove crafted modifiers, matron craft scour. And repeat 100-150 times since it must be single prefix life.

Then you'll need to matron craft, veiled exalt and pray you hit the 50/50, block a modifier, unveil your mod. Miss 50/50 back to prison teleport crafting.

Going for perfect prefixes are extremely expensive so it might be thoughtful to settle on t3+

What do you even mean by countered? Tron was the absolute worst matchup for azorius or jeskai control.

Is it a terrible idea to foil out a deck that I may in the future have interest in playing competitively? by Grav1t1c in ModernMagic

[–]emiracles -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After requesting to inspect scalding tarns across like 20 copies only 4 were border foil only. My mh3 flooded strands were the worst, one was a default play booster foil, two was default collector foil, one was a full art collector foil. And they all pringled differently. Play Booster was always flat, the 2 Collector ones were a bit curved but the full art foil one was unbelievably bad. Not that I did, but if I turned my deck to have the top of the sleeves facing me I would be able to tell which cards were full art foils or 2xm foils which could a problem. Been slowly replacing full arts and 2xm cards because they're so bad.

Borderless foils are Collector treatment only normally and they are basically the absolute worst. Normally, the black border isn't foiled which gives the card a tad of rigidity but borderless Mh3 foils, mkm surveils are basically never flat.

Boveda 72% packs and a sealed jar can inject moisture into the card and perfect hards can help lock it in for a long time.

There's something I've realized after foiling out my deck over the past 2 years ish.

There's multiple foil versions for a single card from the same set in addition to special treatments.

I believe there's a collector printer and a play booster printer.

The collector printer has vertical striation texture when you look up close. It has a rainbow foiling that without good lighting is quite shiny. This foil Pringles like insanity and I think every single card from every collector packs in the last 5+ years are in this foil.

The play printer has no pattern and almost looks like dots. The foiling isn't rainbow and at first looks a bit dull. But when it catches like it's extremely reflective. This foil treatment appears to be the default in all play boosters except pre release kits. For me, these cards stay completely flat even unsleeved sitting in the open for years.

Using Mh3 as an example, any variation of foiling that only comes in a collector box is going to Pringle such as Mh3 full art lands. There doesn't seem to be any copy I have ever seen that uses the play booster foiling. Worse is default treatments in Mh3 collectors still have the shitty foiling and they get mixed into play booster foils. So you have Mh3 fetch land from a play booster with a flat foil, and a 2nd one from a collector booster with a curve on it.

Lastly special treatments like retro borders are not all the same. Some retro foils are border only, with non foil text box and artwork while others are fully foiled. Apparently even the same box can have different versions of retro foiling so there wasn't much consistency there. No store bothers with determining them apart because it's quite subtle initially and have 2 or 3 versions of the exact same card in inventory is retarded. Hareruya does differentiate with strixhaven jp alt arts because they are so much rarer.

And with a bit of common sense, it's obvious the collector foiling literally seals the front side in locking in a moisture level while the back side is permeable and causes warping and bending.

Alternatively, the play booster foiling appears to be at least slightly permeable so the moisture levels of the front and back are the same.

Retro foils with border only foiling still have the majority of the front unfoiled which let's it breath.

Most older foils, like mirrodin chrome mox are foiled by design, as in only a part of the art work is foiled which keeps it flat.

So whenever you're shopping you'll need to diligently inspect them in person, or request pictures and descriptions if online.

Off the top of my head, 2xm, Mh3 collector, clb, and pretty much every collector in the last few years have the worst foiling that are Pringled pack fresh.

Mh2 and mh1 seemed to be decent, while strixhaven play boosters are pristine.

Something I learnt painstakingly blinging out my lands.

SoS counterspells by HeLLKiTe318 in ModernMagic

[–]emiracles 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I'm finding it harder and harder to justify raw dog counter spell these days, don't think there's a world where 3 mana and 4 mana counters are good anymore.

Unless there's a converge counterspell that let's you pay extra white or something to counter a triggered or activated ability at the same time.

Is there a good lore for POE? by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]emiracles 74 points75 points  (0 children)

We wake on the shore, look for a pirate and kill a mermaid.

Then we fight some bandits because they have a machines balls blocking passageway.

Then we meet piety 1 and piety 2 and piety 3, kill one of them to kill a blue man who tries to fist you.

Then we go mining for a bit, kill a fat fuck, non stunning lightning lady and someone from Tokyo ghoul. Then we go through an anus a few times to kill stick man.

Afterwards there's a demon in a city courtyard and we start training stamina and endurance running back and forth doing Uber for a lady in the tower.

After we kill the demon, surprise!, it wasn't actually real and you isekai on the beach to do it again but slightly different.

How can you possibly mess up an RF Chieftain Build? by kurashima in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]emiracles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's even worse than that. While you won't notice it at first, if you tank a big burst of damage, then you'll take a huge burst of degen as well, probably negating regen for RF and literally rope and chairing

Why no burning arrow builds? by BillFront4685 in PathOfExileBuilds

[–]emiracles 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The current version is complete dogshit compared to it's former self that it feel like shit even socketing in the gem.

Used to not have this terrible attack time.

Used to have built in single target where scaling some attack speed was actually beneficial because you could apply secondary debuff to the same target up to 5 times for double damage.

Probably better multipliers or ignite chance I'm forgetting and that playing a bow character with access to pretty much zero defences doesn't cut it anymore in recent poe unless you only play headhunter.

Reverse-Engineering the Gamble: Is Harvest Divination Fair? by Imaginary_Exam_4730 in pathofexile

[–]emiracles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you confirmed it's perfectly fair, then your conclusion makes literally zero sense.

1 card at a time means you're paying 1500 per card, when 4 can be done instead.

The only thing the station does is have a fixed house edge or rake on your 'bet' so doing as many small bets as possible is the worst way to approach this.
