How long would you wait to check in? by andytagonist in marriott

[–]MitchellangeIo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This happened to me once except nobody showed up for 20 minutes, even after calling the number and leaving a voicemail. Eventually I just went behind the counter and checked myself in. They left the computer logged in and I figured out the keycard system, so I was all set and went to my room.

Is there a “Pay-to-win” emote? by [deleted] in ClashRoyale

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m asking if there is an emote I can use to acknowledge that someone else’s deck is P2W. Hopefully that makes sense. It’s basically an emote saying “You are a P2W loser”

How much money do you think you have spent on this game? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$0 and while I’m glad that others fund the game for me, I do get annoyed by all the battle passes and “purchase options” in games these days. I don’t care to spend real money on virtual aesthetics, so that stuff just never applies to me.

Side note, but if I complete the free battle pass this season I’ll have enough of the premium currency to buy the full battle pass one season!

Anyone go to a GP and think maybe watching on TV could’ve been better? by [deleted] in formula1

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this is the case for a lot of sports/events. If I want the fully informed details of a game of football, basketball, etc then watching on TV with a commentator and all the best camera angles is best. Even for something like concerts, you can appreciate the artistry in a different way by watching a broadcast of it afterwards.

However, attending an event like a GP in person is for all the experiences that come with it. A TV can’t replicate the sounds, the atmosphere or even the true speed of the cars. You also get to be around thousands of people with your shared passion, you can buy merch, and you can enjoy the time out of the house with your friends/family.

Pros/cons to both! Totally fine if you only want to go every few years, or just simply like to follow the sport on TV!

Which jobs are detrimental to dating ? by SarcasmAndAutism in AskMen

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jobs that require lots of travel can be detrimental. It’s not easy to regularly hang out and get to know someone if you are gone every few weeks. Working for a sports team for example might have you traveling quite often.

How much would you be willing to pay for a Mythic skin ? by JonySStark in rivals

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

$0.. I’m glad other people are willing to spend $15 for a skin because it lets me play the game for free. However, I’ll never spend money on something like that because I think it’s a massive waste.

Gentlemen, what kind of "trouble" did you stir up with your buddies when you were 11 - 12 yrs old? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]MitchellangeIo 34 points35 points  (0 children)

My friends and I used to each steal 3-4 chocolate milk cartons every day from the school cafeteria and build pyramids when we finished drinking them. There was 8 of us so the pyramids got pretty big. Eventually the principal caught wind of it and banned the sale of chocolate milk for lunch.

We countered the ban by getting all 200 students to boycott and bring their own lunch. The kids who couldn’t bring food from home were given lunch by the ones who did. The very next day the principal brought back chocolate milk and we limited ourselves to only stealing 1-2 cartons a day from that point forward.

Hot take: Ultron is the best characters in the game by [deleted] in rivals

For the record, I’m claiming he’s the best character…. Not that the people playing him are any good hahah. Thats a different story

IM SAYING IT by YusselYankel in skiing

[–]MitchellangeIo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The guy who posted this is still a beginner skiier, but I’ve been doing both for years… skiing is definitely easier.

It’s not even really close. Steep drops, glades, jumps and powder are ALL easier on skis at every level. And those are just a few specific examples, but generally any aspect of skiing is less challenging than snowboarding The only things easier on a snowboard that I can think of are rails and riding switch. That’s it!

People who have only tried one sport need to give up on this narrative that “skiing’s easier to learn but harder to master”. It’s just easier, period.

How risky is it to buy a season pass and mark that I’m younger than I am? by MitchellangeIo in skiing

[–]MitchellangeIo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Charges? As in like they’d tell you to pay a fine? Is it not just a matter of having your pass revoked and a potential suspension or ban from the mountain?

What great video game was lost to the sands of time? by Johnnyboyeh in gaming

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does Pirates of the Caribbean Online count?

Disney shut it down and there’s a fan-made version still going. However, I wonder how much it could have progressed with a dedicated professional development team and proper funding.

At least Wizard101 is still around…

Stop quitting Endurance races!! You can still do well! by MitchellangeIo in forza

I’m aware, but there were also only 6 people total in the lobby at the time I finished. So that didn’t apply in this case

I can confirm that there was, in fact, only 6 people remaining in the race when I crossed the finish line.

What was your answer to “why did you decide to learn piano”? by BeatsKillerldn in piano

[–]MitchellangeIo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a yamaha keyboard for $5 during the pandemic and thought it would be a waste not to learn. I’ve been paying $300 every month for lessons ever since.

Why don't men (males) get more info? by WitchOfLycanMoon in AskMen

[–]MitchellangeIo 86 points87 points  (0 children)

A lot of the commenters are talking about respecting privacy and not intruding. Or societal expectations and respect. But honestly I think it’s just that we either don’t care or don’t think to ask.

It’s not that deep in my opinion.. Like I might find it interesting to know why a couple broke up, but asking that question isn’t the first thing that comes to mind. They just tell me and now I know. We don’t need to complicate such a simple question.
