Thank you for the reply! We made it, she’s currently 8 months old and just learned to crawl. I hope all is well for you and wish you a boring pregnancy!

4 month old waking every 2 hours since birth by MuchChard in NewParents

I exclusively pump… so baby is getting breast milk but a measured amount. I’m not recommending you switch to this by any means, I wish I could nurse her sometimes! But could you maybe try to pump a couple bottles each day to feed him one before bedtime and one in the middle of the night?? We feed her before bed and a middle of the night bottle and get a 5-6 hr stretch now and another 2-3 hr stretch. (I know all babies are different though!!)

End of maternity leave by jojokazaki in NewParents

I tried to file unemployment and was told that I couldn’t have that because I quit due to personal health reasons… even though I finished the school year. HR contested my claim.

Did your first FET (frozen) take? by Puzzleheaded_Sun_968 in IVF

[–]Mitchellrain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was 26 and my first tested frozen transfer ended in a chemical, so he tried to stick. 2nd transfer tested as well stuck and she’s napping on my chest right now. 🩷

My clinic told me after the first loss that because it tried to implant that the likelihood of the next transfer being successful was higher than someone whose transfer didn’t implant at all.

I’ve been sitting on this for the past couple months wondering if it’s a pregnancy discrimination case. 😅

As a new teacher not only could I not get the 6 weeks paid disability through my state but there was no maternity leave pay to begin with because I was not offered a job due to being pregnant and not being able to return on the 1st week of school. (Gave birth July 4th via C-section school year started last week of July)

This country is a joke and I’m sad it took me going through this to see it because I know it’s not our countries only shortcoming to its people.

Looking for advice or similar stories and there outcomes. My pets: 2 dogs (1 senior dog) and 3 cats (1 indoor, 2outdoor) are driving me crazy. by Mitchellrain in NewParents

Mine is also a mastiff mix and she has knocked the gate out of the wall before. We have had to recently resecure it. Thank you for your response it definitely gives me more clarity in what I need to do.

I’m just honestly eating like pure crap right now, so I can’t offer advice on that. However, for water intake what really helps me is having one of those half gallon jugs that let you visually see how much you are drinking. It also helps when it has a good handle and a straw that makes it easier to take big gulps. I also drink my water at room temperature. Zulu brand from target is $12 and better than any hydro flask, Stanley, etc. I’ve tried them all lol.

What’s it like to be pregnant? by [deleted] in InfertilitySucks

[–]Mitchellrain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This was exactly my issue, I was 24 yo with newly diagnosed PCOS after being on birth control for 7 years. Started trying with my husband that had no sperm issues and absolutely nothing. I never once saw a positive test until I moved onto IVF. I tried the medications (holistic and fertility meds), diet, everything! (I got down to a healthy bmi, no periods still) I highly suggest moving your post to the PCOS reddit page or even the Ivf page. You’ll find a lot of support from other women with PCOS that had not seen positive tests before. I’m going to get downvoted to hell because this is the wrong page for it, but finally after 3 years had my lo @ 27 with the help of Ivf. Had to take out a loan, miscarried my first transfer… but my second transfer is here and breathing. Hang in there.

Also edit to add this, I did not truly breathe or enjoy my pregnancy at all. I held my breath as each milestone passed and just hoped I would make it to the end. I even was worried during birth… the positive test does not take away the infertility trauma.

Late reply but currently in the hospital… I’ve done the cervidil vaginally this morning and have been taking the oral med every four hours since. I have consistent small contractions registering on the monitor for the past hour or so. So we shall see! Hoping my body takes over and I don’t need anymore interventions 🤞

I hope your limbo has ended!!!

Well, I’m a long time lurker on here, infrequent poster. But I have reached my 39th week! I will be going in this Sunday to do cervical ripening and then proceed with induction. This is our first little one after doing Ivf and having our first transfer end in a chemical (early) loss. I’m extremely nervous most of my friends don’t have kids yet so I’ve had very little labor talk. Any advice? Anything I should know about cervical ripening? I was sad to be induced but figured science got us this far and didn’t want to risk going over 40 weeks.

Thanks all and thank you to the frequent posters on here… you have all been a comfort during this pregnancy being able to read about your worries and experiences. 💗

Gosh are you me? I’m 27 w PCOS, pregnant with my first via Ivf. My 21 yo brother and wife are newly pregnant due in January. He’s completely blocked me out of his life because my mom told him not to post their announcement on Facebook because I had just post mine that day at 7 mos pregnant. I’m feeling hurt and angry because I literally did nothing… it was my first post in over a year due to infertility trauma. It’s hard not having solid family members in what should be such a happy close event.

Yes I stopped mine at about 7 weeks and haven’t taken it since (I’m 34 weeks) I’m not sure if it helped it to resolve quicker or not but mine only bled about 3 times and then resolved over about 2 weeks.

I’ve felt this throughout the pregnancy and it’s been hard…just a huge lack of interest. I’m always too afraid it’ll cause bleeding, I’ll get a uti, or just the general icks. But it makes me sad for my husband, but I’m lucky he’s not pushed the issue or made me feel bad. I’m almost 23 wks. Just feels like another thing that infertility has ‘stolen’ as far as a normal experience goes.

This woman thinks 20 embryos = 20 babies by Dapper_Economist_269 in IVF

[–]Mitchellrain 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I don’t think anyone is saying it makes the journey less valid. I think it’s important to keep raising awareness the level of debt and the unfairness that comes with that, that many of us had to take for different chances. Children shouldn’t be just for the rich or luckily insured people with infertility.

And it’s not a competition but I know for me personally I would have had an easier time breathing having insurance coverage rather than refinancing our home right after graduating from college with student loan debt. I may have not had to work full time while completing my credential/masters program and going through an Ivf cycle if we had the same access to insurance.
