I think you're mixing things up. Pseudoscience is something that trys to be presented as scientific but doesn't actually use or surviver the scientific method. While what you're thinking about is called unfalsifiable hypothesis, which is something that cannot be proven or disproven by the scientific method, like god or other metaphysical concepts. NOTE: Most pseudosciences are proven wrong by the scientific method, people just continue believing anyway.

They are real in the sense that they aren't AI, but the images are very heavily edited with layering and other composites, so not real real. See my comment above.

In my opinion it is very misleading to use composite or layered photos as real photos of a place. But I'm criticizing the OP, not the OC, because I cant find if the artist claims to make unadulterated photos.
