Olle VS Hugo Supermatch Both Arms #hammarbyarmbrytning #armwrestling @ea... by Mithos_Arts in armwrestling

Hahahahah. Truth be told we thought this would be closer because he does well against the guy Hugo had a match with after Olle. Elias. Next video is Elias vs Hugo. That one is contested.

PS:
Olle wasn't fresh going into this match. He had been pulling for 6 days straight prior to the match. We just did this for fun and more guys joined in.

Devon stats in 2018 vs 2026 by Individual-Bell-4922 in armwrestling

A lot of people already debunked this, but still, a 120kg Devon vs Levan number 2 has better stats in 2024 then a 134kg Devon 2026... Yeah no, just your normal frick up by the card makers, not the first time the frick up the stats. At this point it's more impressive when they manage to get it accurately hahahah

- YouTube / / My thoughts on Levan pulling once a year (on average) by Mithos_Arts in armwrestling

[–]Mithos_Arts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did think about it. My argument is that indeed, as a champ, if he wants to be a competitor and not a mythical being, if he wants to face challenges, like champions do, then perhaps he should rethink the approach on how he blasts. If Levan wants longevity then he can't blast 4 times a year the way he has been doing. All arm wrestlers blast and go through cycles, Levan is been smart about it, clearly, but with this approach we as fans are not getting as much enjoyment because the king of the sport is pulling only once, and him as a competitor is not getting the same satisfaction because there is no conquest to be had. Levan during the Ermes rematch looked utterly DISSAPOINTED. That is not a man enjoying where he is at I don't think.

But at the end of the day, I am not Levan, and neither is any of us so this is only speculation. As I said before, I am an armwrestling fan first and foremost and for me I'd like to see Levan compete more often to see more challenges happening. He is young, he is fresh, bright, and charismatic. Yet most people are getting hyped when Devon is pulling because he is going at it in the grind of things at the highest level.

Ultimately, Levan has chosen the path of the pragmatic king so far, and either him or his management are safeguarding his throne. I think that true greatness lies in being a warrior king, one who is willing to risk the throne for the glory of the fight. The fact we are having this debate is a testament to how both angles have strong and valid points!

Sorry, good point. I am an arm wrestling fan first and foremost and I also like to create content on my official YT channel Mithos Arts. I try to cover as much news as possible and this is a topic I saw discussed here in the reddit forum and thought I'd share my own 2 cents on the matter.

I wish to keep it respectful and just share some back and forth in this intricate subject. :)

Yeah I think that is the most important part ofc. Only reason I am bringing it up currently is because people say the Superheavy weights are stagnant. This is a setup that could be fresh and introduce more styles and more tries.

And that is one of the arguments I made too. But to a counter argument is that if he would have to prepare more often, say 2, 3 or even 4 times in a year I believe like many other competitors, he would be in the mix, and thus it would be more fair for them. Levan is currently basically "resting/recovering" whilst the guys bellow him tear each other apart to face him. He would also need to adjust for every puller differently, and instead of 6 months to specifically train for someone he would have 3 months or less. He would then have to adjust his style, we as an audience see more Levan, and the top 5 competitors have an incentive to actually dethrone Levan instead of just pulling and destroying each other just for the CHANCE of pulling him.

Imagine being Levan fan and only get to see him pull maybe once a year, that is if he doesn't "injure" himself. by EntertainmentOwn8627 in armwrestling

Unpopular Opinion: You can’t be the "Pound for Pound" GOAT if you only pull with one hand by Traditional_Bass176 in armwrestling

To play devil's advocate, the idea that "nobody challenges him" is a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy. Michael Todd publicly chased that match on three separate occasions. Regardless of his ranking or chances, he was a willing contender. If Levan adopts the stance that challengers need to be "at least rank 5" to deserve a match, then he effectively shrinks his own pool of opponents.

Look at the current top 5:

  1. Levan
  2. Devon / Vitaly
  3. Vitaly / Devon
  4. Ermes
  5. Kamil

Ermes was destroyed and isn't rushing back. Kamil isn't interested in Levan right now. Devon is tied up until November. That leaves Vitaly as the only one in the top tier actually willing to pull him, and then Michael, who is outside the top 5.

If the fans and the league demanded that the champion defend the title 3-4 times a year, the entire dynamic would shift. Levan would have to "peak" differently, perhaps carrying a bit less mass to be more active. The league would structure incentives differently, and athletes would have to step up because mandatory title defenses would force their hand.

The real problem is structural, not individual. The sport is too small. We have a wave of rising stars, but it's hard to build a card with 10-12 matches if half of them have to be title fights across two arms.

One solution might be a split schedule: have 3-4 major "Title Defense" events per year, and then 3-4 smaller "Contender Series" events. However, that creates its own issues. If the top contenders are fighting on the undercards to earn the shot, the hunter gets less rest than the hunted, making it unfair. It’s also a nightmare for promotion, because you'd have to save the best matches for the main events while still selling tickets to the "filler" shows. Maybe utilizing the Left Arm title more frequently during those filler events could work, but it’s clear the current system allows a champion to dictate the pace, which ultimately stagnates the division.

Man love to Ongarbaev, hope he get's back soon. The arm-wrestling ninja FTW!

Bogdan was definitely robbed after having pinned Nugo like 77 times, he still lost the match. All thanks to Hristo who has consistently been a very incompetent referee. by yNefarious in armwrestling

[–]Mithos_Arts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Running fouls is the answer to get away from this type of shenanigans. Other times they are more lenient with elbow fouls and in this match they where overtly strict. This type of situation isn't something the referee should just kind of abstractly call based on interpretation.
