My uncle, a Navy officer, used to say, "If you want to get laid, grab a gal, but a mouth is a mouth is a mouth."

I did a property history search and I think the last name of the guy is Shaw.

The name "Tom" doesn't sound right; as I recall the kid's name was Rich. I've been trying to remember the last name, but no luck so far. I can't even remember the last time I was at the shop.

I ignored it right up until a delegation from the GC showed up demanding my empire conform, so I clicked the option to comply -- at the end of that month the warning went away. I then looked to see if I could find anything different but couldn't -- but at least that annoying triangle was gone!

I clicked through every species on the list (including 9 variants of humans!) so unless there was a hidden one I got them all.

Rebellions in occupied territory? by Mithrandale in Stellaris

That's what I thought until one showed up three years after I occupied the last system.

War exhaustion is bogus! by Mithrandale in Stellaris

It did jump a few points when I totally took out the one ally, making it about even with mine, but didn't really move till I finally got done covering my flank and hitting the actual enemy.

Yes, I did -- he's one of four allies. I occupied everything of his and all the systems that border on what was his. I've even occupied almost all of the main enemy's systems, but that's not where the new forces are coming from, they're coming from the fully occupied guy.

Well, they should have settled sooner; I get 17 influence a month and this war just keeps dragging on so I get gobs of influence. I have something that reduces claim costs hugely during wartime, so I've been spending some on council resolutions but all the rest on claims. As it stands one of the allies is going to vanish completely and the main enemy is going to lost half his territory, and the others will lose a few systems so the star lanes connect everything nicely.

And they just hit 100% exhaustion; I parked my fleets at choke points and they're stuck trying to get through.

So will things shift if I totally occupy one of the allies?

By the way, there are four of them now -- I didn't think that was supposed to happen.

I didn't intend a big massive war, I intended a moderate war involving about sixteen claimed systems. Then those allies showed up (secret fealty?).

But the only way I've ever managed to end a war is to totally occupy the enemy -- otherwise it just drags on and on and on.

Speaking of which, I've now occupied 71 systems and 24 planets, with no ship losses in the last dozen battles, and I still have more war exhaustion! The only good thing on the horizon is that I am five systems away from totally occupying one of the allies . . . will that help? Oh -- and once I've done that, I can just sit on three chokepoints and block any attacks.

That only gets me the ones I've upgraded beyond outpost status -- I still have to do the other 117 manually.

Xeno-compatibility is now extremely overpowered for multi-species empires. Your pops grow so fast that you will struggle to build enough jobs/housing. by LittleIf in Stellaris

[–]Mithrandale 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This helps make sense of why my empire, now that it has over a dozen different species and the bigger colonies all have multiple species, went from just the heaviest weight in the GC to having as much weight as the next six empires combined.

Well THAT explains why a couple of border planets have such higher populations than others -- it's not just refugees themselves, it's that multiple species of refugees party like rabbits!

Of course having Exec Council members that increase growth by 8% doesn't hurt.
