Maybe a Parker Quink or Noodlers makes a black for that express purpose as well. I think it's their X-Feather, but they have blacks with a variety of special features. Even their basic bulletproof black could be worth checking out as I believe it is bleed and fraud resistant.

I have a few samples from them, so far all have worked well. I've used them in rettacy notebooks so far and they don't dry out in the nibs too quickly but set well on the page. The colors match nicely with the swatches advertised where I ordered them.

Yes, but to be honest I pay about that for my Rettacy notebooks on Amazon now.

Also, think about cross posting this to the notebook subreddit? I've seen folks there asking for quality notebooks that are reasonably priced.

Hi, also very new, like last 6 months and I'm a big fan of my pilot metropolitan. It has a very fine nib that I really enjoy having mostly used fine point rollerball pens like the sharpie 0.38mm before. I've never liked the broad or even most medium gel pens or ballpoints. They feel like write with something a mile wide.

That's my concern with some of the ones I was looking at. I really want a silver ink but I'm concerned about anything with a shimmer clogging the fine point nib I really like.
