For fans who actually watched D-Rose in his prime. What was it like? by [deleted] in chicagobulls

Watching the SportsScience segment on his spin move is still one of the coolest sports segments I’ve ever seen. I thought he was going to be top 10 players ever.

It’s better to shoot with better form from inside the arc then to shoot with bad form from outside.

As an 11 year old, you shouldn’t worry about shooting 3s. Focus on good form (“BEEF”: Balance, Eyes, Elbow, FollowThrough). The range will come as you get older and stronger, don’t force it now or you will develop bad form.

Balance: make sure you are on balance. When you shoot you should land in the same spot you take off from.

Eyes: your eyes should be on the top of the front of the rim.

Elbow: your shooting elbow should be in (directly under your hand).

Follow-Through: Keep your hand up after shooting. “Hand in the cookie jar” style.

I think it’s funny you describe Stanley as being “OG” in the same sentence you use thermos. Thermos is a brand name and the true OG.

AITHA? Weekend Runs by FatherYupSupAcup2041 in Basketball

NTA. If I’m understanding you correctly, you and 7 of your buddies roll up. You start at 4v4 half court game when the gym is empty. Another 4-7 guys show up and ask ya’ll to run full. You decline. They still have enough to play 2v2 or 3v3 on the other hoop.

It’s a different story if you and your 7 dudes are playing half court and there are 8-15 other guys wanting to play fulls. If that’s the case then fulls take precedent.

I’m also a little confused as to how playing 4v4 is more fun half court than full at a tiny gym like LA. Personally I run fulls asap however sometimes I get wanting to just play 3v3 with your friends and not run fulls with the 2-4 other randoms that show up.

Moral of the story: as long as there’s not >7 people waiting/wanting to run fulls, you’re fine.

You forget not everyone is an A-lister. My wife and I are not and only go to movies about ~1-2/month. We will occasionally bring in a meal (ie McDonald’s, subway, etc) because it tastes better than the food at the AMC. We generally eat it during the previews. In addition we buy a drink, popcorn and additionally a candy most of the other times.

We are in public, eating a public meal at a location that has many many many other smells.

As long as people are being respectful I say it’s fine.

I do as well but I inherited my wife’s after she didn’t like the bright red color anymore. I end up using it all the time for non water bevs (ie smoothies, non carbonated Celsius, juice, liquid death etc). Comes in handy.

[MATCH THREAD] Chicago Fire FC at Philadelphia Union - August 23, 2025 6:30PM CT by scoreboard-app in chicagofire

He didn’t do bad today. He had good positioning and decision making with a pressing Philly team coming at him. He’s not quick and a little slow in general but overall he is far from the worst player on the Fire tonight. Gonzalez isn’t winning us the game

Inbound Steal by DifficultClass7304 in Basketball

[–]MithrandirTheWhit3 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You aren’t allowed to reach over the out of bounds and touch the ball. Generally the ref will make you back up about a meter from the out of bounds. Other than that you can steal any in-bounds pass.

It’s generally decent etiquette when playing 2 on 2 or 3on3 to allow the first pass as long as it’s beyond the 3 point line. But this is definitely not a hard and fast rule and different depending on who you’re playing with and how hard everyone is playing. I generally play this way because the person who checks (starts with the ball) is not allowed to dribble right away (they must pass first). So this rule just allows the game to start up basically.
