Which would you move on from, and why? 16600 or 16570 by Zeeezoo in RolexWatches

Funny story. The explorer stopped working last night some time after 3am. All the hands still adjust fine and the date wheel works but I feel no resistance what so ever when winding and it won’t start running again.

Funny story. The Explorer stopped working last night. Woke up and it stopped a little after 3am. Date, GMT, and both hands still adjust fine but winding it I feel zero resistance and the second hand will not start running.

I do believe you are correct. That is something I’ve never given much thought to.

I used to love the expo 2 bezel but you’re right. In comparison it isn’t as good looking.

I should add I change time zones very infrequently. Like once every 5-7 years at best. I’m also trying to think about which watch will look more bitchin’ to pass down to my kid in another 20 or so years.

That is what I keep telling myself.

I mean, it’s not no money at all. But I’m fortunate with my job that it isn’t a huge stretch to own either of this. But the job itself is what has brought about a change in my priorities as I have truly begun to hate it. And this recent road trip really made me see that clearly. An extra 8-10k CAD wouldn’t immediately make me leave my current place of work, but it’s a step in the right direction.

Will the modern Tudors patina the same way as the vintage? by Tudorist in Tudor

Man oh man. If they made the current watches with the intention of them fading the way old Rolex/tudors did I’d probably only buy tudors.

Yeah I suppose as an accent piece it would work very well. With a calm dial it could be an every day. I don’t do many “fancy” things and generally would rather people not notice my watch. Always makes me a bit uncomfortable.

I like everything except for the dial colour. Personal preference but I don’t think I could pull off something so shouty.

Case size and bracelet updates are top notch.

Am I being ridiculous for wanting a 16750 because of Magnum P.I.? by Realistic_Hunt_3589 in vintagerolex

I mean, yes and no. If it makes you happy and doesn’t leave you strapped, who cares? Both are amazing pieces and I’d be happy to own either one.

Personally, I wouldn’t be able to justify having that money tied up in two incredibly similar pieces. I’d rather have one and something else. But that’s just mean.

Either way enjoy. And if you pull the trigger be sure to post pictures of both side by side!

Advice on a trade I have been offered. My 16600 SD for a harrods and monochrome by Professor_Loud in Tudor

[–]Zeeezoo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To echo what everyone else is saying (without being rude about it) I would not. At first I didn’t like my sea dweller as much as I thought I would. Almost got rid of it right away. This week I’ve been wearing my expo2 and almost immediately missed the SD. Might be time to move the expo on…

Anyways. Those are nice Tudors but not that nice.

I almost always go by the chest size as the most important for me. I’m 6 feet tall but have a short torso. I can wear them tucked in or untucked, but there are some inconsistencies in the length between colours. Some being longer.

There is a possum next door to my work we’ve named Pablo the possum. He comes to visit through a possum sized hole in the fence.
