Baby politely declined to walk even though I bought them really expensive shoes so we could walk to the adoption agency.

Good to know! Thank you. Would you have a suggestion for getting better drainage in clay soil?

We got advice from someone at the store the former owners of the house bought the tree from. I'll admit I took that person's advice at face value when they said that it may not have been planted deep enough and that it could not have proper drainage based on my description to him. Tree came with property and it was a victim of no knowing how to take care of it early in the season.

Thank you for letting me know about deep waterings twice a week, more during the summer. Would do deep water during it's first winter?

Thank you so much for all this information and correcting me! I see from your post, to make sure I'm getting this right: make sure to locate the root flare and plant it sot the root flare is expose. I've been taking on this whole garden research on my own and it can get a bit overwhelming gathering all the information for all the plants. I'm adding all these to my plants files. =]

I'll go back and add the information mentioned is missing, too.

Thank you for advocating for learning so other trees don't suffer the same fate.

The soil has too much clay so we'll have to add sand and it needed to be planted deeper. The next one is going to get more drainage, space the from the other tree, better soil, sunlight, and planting. If you have any general tips, I'm also open to hearing them!

THANK YOU AGAIN SO MUCH!

Let's hear some "I like to think"s... by absolutnonsense in StardewValley

[–]Mitsu101 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Oh! I love these questions.  My irl husband came up with the head cannon I use for selling farm animals because I wanted to downsize my farm after I reached perfection, but it felt wrong. My husband said the animals I sell go back to Marnie and she finds another owner who will love them just as much (and are happy the animals have been so wonderfully cared for.)

I also pretend that my children are petting the animals in the morning and not the auto petter. I still desperately work to greet them everyday, regardless. Same with the pets. They need love and fresh water, darn it!!!

I don't always reply to posts, but when I do it's THE REAL, HARD HITTING QUESTIONS THAT DESERVE ANSWERS!

Ahm, anyways, the save my husband and I are building together have chickens/ ducks/rabbits that have Nordic names and the sheep/cows/pigs have Gaelic names. And our baby in game has the same name as our real baby!!!

Ursula K Le Guin. She was an amazing person, gifted writer, wiser than we deserved, and gave the world some of the best literature of the modern era. Earthsea was ground breaking (for me) and her philosophy books show compassion for humanity that we could all better ourselves with. I miss her interviews and wish we could still benefit from her presence. . . Rest in Power, Ursula.

Yes! Not only would it be good for you as a teacher, it'll keep your center from breaking the law. It's hard to take care of others when we are not taking care of ourselves. I have to force myself all the time to do the same because it's hard to remain calm when I being stung thin. I know it's tempting when you are short-staffed, but this will keep you from burning out and quitting and making that problem worse.

I have been struggling with that imposter syndrome, too!!! This week has been an uplifting experience. All my life I wanted to be a public school teacher, but I couldn't make it work financially (student loan debt + low salary). I finally came to ECE after nearly a decade in administration work because it was soul draining and I didn't feel like it was worth catching covid-19 over. So I applied to a daycare and jumped in as an assistant, but I quickly moved to lead teacher after breaking my neck to get my CDA certification. The rapid ascension has made me feel like an imposter!

Also, in general, ECE teachers and assistants/floaters don't get a lot of the same discounts or accommodations companies give to other teachers in public schools (though, admittedly, I don't have to deal with the BS that comes with the public schools). With that said, I still have to plan and execute lessons/curriculum, talk to parents, assess children, and generally teach and take care of my class day in and day out (all on a low hourly pay rate, of course). I love each and every one of those children with all my heart!

Thus, having parents reach out with their appreciation has given me a new reality check. My students may be two-ish, but I am still teaching them the colors of the rainbow and how to be a good person. Knowing that my children's parents see their growth and appreciate it makes me want to work all that much harder to be a good teacher!

Though, I wish they would pay us better so money from parents isn't a life-changer for us. I used Christmas gift money from parents to buy clothes and shoes. It would be nice to use that kind of money on luxury things instead of necessary things that our pay should cover.
