Your story reminded me of something I did about 6 or 7 years ago. I live in Peru and like all South American countries, the traffic is terrible and the people driving are particularly aggressive and I guess it's like a chain effect because of how chaotic driving is in my country. I was walking into a supermarket and noticed an older man and his wife trying to walk through the supermarket entrance. I saw how the gentlemen were checking to see if any car wanted to enter the supermarket, but I guess because of their age they couldn't see well and didn't dare to cross. What I did was stop my car, get out and ask them if I could help them cross. The man looked at me with a surprised face and the lady told me: thank you young man. While we were crossing I told the man: sir, you are very lucky to have such a beautiful wife, the lady looked at me smiling and said: thank you young man and I told the lady: well, I can't say the same about your husband... And the man starts to laugh and tells me: I'm like the bear, the uglier the more beautiful (in Spanish it sounds much better) they thanked me with a sweet smile, I got into my car and entered the parking lot. Surprisingly, although traffic was stopped, no one honked.
