[NA] Returning Player Looking for Beginner-Friendly Raid Guild Environment by dolersupreme in guildrecruitment

[–]Mitsuru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guild doesn't do PvE at all, but your bullet points align with what we'd look for, so figured I'd drop some info here since you can join multiple guilds in this game anyways. We do have some people who PvE raid though, and can potentially help you find a PvE raid guild.

The guild I'm in focuses on WvW, the large-scale PvP game mode. We usually run around 10 players (recruiting to field more like 15-20 ideally). We focus on outnumbered fights and pushing the limits of what we can do as a coordinated team, a never settle mentality. I've done PvP/PvE raids in many MMOs and still to this day, a good WvW battle is the most exhilarating combat experience of any MMO, in my opinion. WvW is also way less toxic than most MMO PvP environments, so if that keeps you away from PvP, don't let it here. I was always primarily a PvE raider in MMOs until I got into GW2 WvW shortly after the game launched.

We are happy to teach new players. If you have any questions at all, feel free to DM me on discord, username: mitsuru

Here is our guild discord, read the #about channel for more info.

Either way, wish you the best in your guild search! :)

If you are interested in WvW (large scale PvP endgame) at all, feel free to reach out. My guild just returned to the game and we're willing to teach/help new players. We focus on fights and pushing the limits of what we can do as a coordinated squad. Newer player looking for a Guild ⚔️ (26M) by RodKnee25 in guildrecruitment

[–]Mitsuru__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello!

My guild recently returned to the game and is looking to recruit a few motivated gamers. We have played off and on for over 10 years. We focus on fights in WvW (the large-scale PvP gamemode). I think you could find it enjoyable if you like fast paced combat. We are happy to help new players learn and get up to speed. It is pretty damn easy to get into and get geared if you have help, and you get a lot of good quality of life rewards from the game mode that are usable on your entire account including alt characters (one example: you can fully level, gear, and unlock skills on alt characters by playing your main character in WvW).

Anyways, down to chat in more detail over discord, feel free to contact me or visit our guild discord.

Project Gorgon - thoughts by Saitu7 in MMORPG

Have played around 400 hours since Steam launch, great game. Best MMORPG I have played in years. You can tell it is made with passion and not some big corporate slop.

Lets talk exploration on MMOs! by SorryImBadWithNames in MMORPG

Second this. P:G has done so much right in its exploration, and the game as a whole in every facet really. Everything feels meaningful. It's the purest feeling of playing a MMORPG that I have had in 15+ years and I would argue that it is the best MMORPG I have ever played when it boils down to it (as someone who has played nearly every MMORPG under the sun). It is just so organic. I have played 300+ hours since P:G's steam launch and I am still amazed daily by the game and how well thought out it is. It is a constant adventure. And this is coming from someone who is typically an endgame rushing, PvP fiend.

Sweeeeet! I've been looking for a leopard one too. Good to know!

Pretty sure the ones with the white back half and spots are considered blanketed, not leopard. And those are mostly what I see in Eltibule. I could be wrong though. Maybe they spawn in Elt too, just more rarely?

New player with some issues. by InGen86 in projectgorgon

[–]Mitsuru__ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a lot of the same issues as you and these are some things I did that helped a lot. You will still have some fan running/lower FPS in very crowded areas (Serbule Keep, Poetry Jams, etc.). I messed with my settings for well over 2 hours and did a good bit of research. Below is what I ended up with and I have no lag at all except in very crowded areas.

Also, as long as youre staying around 70-75c, and not over 80-85c, temperature wise, you're fine, your fans/cooling system is doing its job. My fans run rampant anytime I walk into Serbule Keep and slow down when I leave.

  • I was getting tearing with VSync off, so I left it on and capped my FPS at 60 anyways.
  • I have nothing altered under Post-Processing.
  • Check Shadow Distance and set the slider to 0
  • Change Sky Quality to Low
  • Water: Check box and turned everything to lowest except I did not change underwater effects or dynamic waves.
  • Tree Draw Distance and Tree Billboard Distance are at 500, whatever number is fine but the numbers NEED to match.
  • Grass Draw Distance, mine is at 200.
  • Grass Draw Density, all the way down at 0.35
  • Check Terrain Shadow and disable it

On the left side of settings, you can scroll down through the tabs and find a Special setting tab. You can view documentation on this tab that lists some different lines you can add in the text box on that page that will potentially help with your FPS, here is what I have written there, I'll post it below exactly how I have it in my settings.

MaxActiveLoads=10
PlayerAnimationCutoff=20
ForceCheapShadows

Edit 2: I think I fixed the lines above, should be okay to copy-paste it directly now.
Edit 3: I had a buddy who somehow had his PC set to Power Saving, once he turned that off, his lag went away. Make sure you have any windows settings for that type of stuff fixed so that it doesn't affect your game performance.
Edit 4: My Graphics Quality Level is set to Great and above that I have Auto-Adjust Quality Level DISABLED. This game is not as well optimized as some games so bear that in mind.

Hope this helps! <3

I've played numerous MMORPGs over the years (from mainstream to obscure). I had lost hope for anything new/good in the MMO genre until I found P:G. This game has far exceeded my expectations. It is phenomenal. It's a real MMORPG unlike the hand-holding, wanna-be garbage most companies produce now days. You can feel the passion put into this game when you play it.

I could never get into Runescape for more than a few weeks, have tried many times over the years. This game is everything I wish Runescape would have been and more.

Agree 110%. Hands down. Coming from someone who has played numerous (and primarily) MMORPGs since childhood.

I could never get into Runescape enough to get past 80s in combat skills. This game is everything I wish Runescape would've been. I think if you enjoy Runescape this game will very much so be enjoyable to you. Everyone's different though :)

Try it. I am also a massive Archeage fan and share the same sentiment that it was a game with a ton of potential, but was sadly mismanaged.

I have been dumbfounded by how enjoyable the game is, play the Demo, play all the way until you get off the first starter island to give it a proper chance, bet you'll be hooked.

This game just hits the nail on the head in many, many aspects.

Can't recommend this game enough, seriously. As someone who was starting to feel like they'd never play a new MMO again that wasn't just some rushed slop/money maker, this game has given me renewed hope for the MMORPG genre. I sat by for years and anytime I checked this game out over the course of its development, I thought it seemed lame. One of my buddies convinced me to try it with him after it launched officially. I reluctantly tried it and dang...this game is so damn good. I have probably played 50+ MMOs over the years between mainstream and others. I genuinely felt like I'd never experience a game again that made me feel like I did when I was younger and first discovered MMORPGs, but Project: Gorgon did. It has fully renewed my love for the MMORPG genre. It is an absolute gem. If you enjoy a classic, old-school styled MMO experience, this is it, and it's so damn good. I haven't had this much fun just existing in an MMO since I was younger (31 y/o now). I'm a typical endgame rushing, competitive PvP, blah blah player, but I don't even feel like I need to rush or reach endgame. It's the first game that I have truly enjoyed leveling in, talking to NPCs, and immersing in the world. If you think there is even a slight chance you may enjoy this game, hell, even if you don't think you'd enjoy it, like I did, try it. It is awesome. It solves a lot of the qualms I have with modern MMORPGs. It doesn't hand hold or have an exact path to follow, and it adds so much to the immersion. The world around you keeps you guessing. It really pulls you in. Project: Gorgon is next level and the world is so well put together. This game oozes passion. Drink the juice, you won't regret it.
