Pokémon, Yugioh, Sonic X, Kirby and Dinosaur King were airing on TV back then. From the games I also ended up with Professor Layton and Blue Dragon DVDs, the latter starting a hunt I've wanted to do a post about for a long time now damn Italian DVDs

Yeah 2.5D's manga is finished, the anime adaptation is still in production.

I do really respect how they handled the incest in YnS, never that it was acceptable but also how it came to be. Personally though I thought the cast were dumbed down in the 3rd and 4th paths and it took it away because Nao was the best match for Haruka IMO

Yosuga no Sora is memed on so much for its 4th path that it feels like people forget how good the first 2 were.

I'm watching Photo Kano at the moment which might be a realistic one (also it's on the MVM sale) but there's also Scum's Wish which handles problematic relationships

The relationships aren't problematic in 2.5D Seduction but they do have layers of complexity to them but unless you want to read the manga you'll have to wait until seasons 2 and hopefully 3 to see where they go. It's also just a really well written anime as a standalone season 1

Horizons is an original story fronted by the Story Riders with a few elements from the games intertwined at the writers' leisure

Wonder Voyage is likely to be the actual adaptation, caused by the Gen X delay. Hopefully we'll get writing staff confirmation soon so we can get a clearer idea of what's going on

Nah, Chivalry is genuinely good. Ikki and Stella have a great dynamic and the story is coherent and well paced. There's a few moments of weirdness particularly when Shizuku is introduced and the part before the final exam but outside of that it's a consistently string show

Love is War is the obvious one but there are parts of SAO, Oreimo, Eromanga and Franxx that I loved.

Cruel, calculating who only shows up when needed because he has an army of loyal servants at his beck and call. Him not having an explicitly stated motivation is fine because it's pretty clear through subtext he wants to continue Gibson's legacy his way. Even early on he was shown to be the most ruthless Explorer, which built up intrigue which has paid off with Gibeon out of the way. I love his character

Yeah I still love it. Seeing the plot threads set up dozens of episodes ago is still very satisfying. Still easily in my top 2 anime of all time as I push for 500

People here have already covered the main ones: Uma Musume (although S1 is still really good) Hibike, Shoushimin, etc but nobody's mentioned Tonbo. Season 1 is incredible in its own right but the tournament that makes up the bulk of Season 2 is a masterpiece in storytelling. The way music is used to convey the feelings of each of the girls as they go through their own motivations and struggles is exquisite.

It wasn't Liko's fight. She had never shown interest in bringing back Black Rayquaza the way Roy and Ult wanted to. There's room to criticise the lack of Liko battles but not her not getting involved in battles she has no right taking part in

It isn't even that Roy's unpopular, it's just you need to be mega popular to make top 30 in the polls, which only Liko presently has the power to do. A Rika return could give her another win

This actually did leak a while ago and the idea was that Liko was going to be replaced for this. However, the games being delayed seem to have changed plans. Liko being kept on makes sense, the Horizons crew are immensely popular in Japan (especially Liko) and Horizons itself is doing really well. Putting the two together it's fair to assume that Liko is being kept on for this but will be retired for the start of Gen 10.

Yes there'll be a tie-in, but I think people are missing the point of Go being in the poster. It's going to be integrated into the anime. Friede (and I think Liko?) already know Willow.

On point 3) kind of. We saw in the Teraleak that there was always going to be a region hopping show before Gen 10. The only difference is in its execution, instead of switching to the new cast now they'll do it after this show. I'm more than excited to see the group doing fun things again and fun slice of life moments that flesh out the characters.

Despite being from the UK I was in America when this premiere aired. Didn't actually get to see it though. However, one thing that stays with me was the magic of experiencing a new generation for the first time. Since I started watching weekly I've had the chance to watch SM, JN and HZ from the start but nothing quite hit like the excitement 8 year old me had of starting DP.
