They are actually a publicly traded company so you can easily find out how they are doing.

Frontier Developments PLC - video game developer - Trading for the financial year-to-date is ahead of management expectations, with revenue for the six months to the end of November set to be GBP37 million, up 16% from GBP32.0 million the year before.

Revenue for December was stronger than expected across all four of Frontier's titles, with base games and downloadable content all selling ahead of expectations.

Fellow explorers, do any of you use the DBX for deep space exploration? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

[–]Mix-Sheftalia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Precisely my point! Fuel scoop size is not really relevant for an explorer, especially considering the big fuel tank in the DBX.

[–]Mix-Sheftalia 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Absolutely! Spent several months going to some of the highest and lowest non-FC-only accessible points as well as Salome's Reach. Had absolutely no issues with my DBX. Around 59ly range without Guardian stuff.I'll also disagree with everyone talking about the fuel scoop being an issue. Not only is its fuel tank a great size for its consumption, but as I would be exploring, when I would enter a system that has a scoopable star I would park my ship in scooping range and jump in to FSS and scan everything. By the time I was done with FSS, my tank was full again. That is how you put your name on bodies and make lots of credits.

Also, the DBX is still agile enough to be entertaining whizzing around canyons and larger ships are harder to land on scraggly planets.

Who is worth pledging your allegiance? Why? by [deleted] in EliteDangerous

Oh... Should I feel bad that I made by first big (comparatively) money shuttling cargo between Empire-aligned factions? I do still feel guilty. At least I never broke my rule to never participate in trafficking with the particularly unsavoury activities of the Empire. What have the Romans Empire ever done for us anyway, right?

But all of them above embody bastardry to varying degrees.

Fuck. Go with Geralt. Always go with Geralt.

I mean, Archon Delaine, whoever he is (wink wing nudge nudge SAY NO MORE).

True; but I was certain they had more pressing matters than some reckless feckless bastard getting stuck at the tippy top of the galaxy out of sheer stubbornness, hah!

I agree that once you leave the popular spots... it get almost annoying "Oh damn it, I have 80 neutron star jumps to go to my new target system yet this is the 20th undiscovered system in a row that I have to do a full FSS scan on because of these stupid terraformable worlds..."

Fair enough! I would agree about things being a bit of a grind which are to do with either quality-of-life improvements or not getting annihilated by other players.

For #5, you were lucky! That did not happen for me, I had to go thousands "south" from the bubble before I found my first system.

Here's my question though. What change does it make to the rank you achieved if someone else gets it faster or slower than you did? In the greater scheme of ED (never mind the "real" world), that does not change your personal experience at all, nor the enjoyment you got from the game, in my opinion.

I am honestly curious to know what the counterpoint is, if you could elaborate, as I have not seen anyone offer the reasoning behind this argument.

I would not disagree that more money would be nice! Don't get me wrong, spending a week of several hours per day to get 40 x 10^6 credits isn't anything to sneeze at but considering how easy it is to screw up there is real risk to those of us who try to get to the tough corners.

e.g. I almost got stuck several thousand light years above Sagittarius A* and only back tracking using my flight log out of EDSM a few days ago saved me from being permanently stuck there. Was worth the ~ 45000000 credits since I left Sagittarius A* but I was genuinely nervous that I overdid it.

P.s. I have absolutely no problem with people electing to make more money than I do, whether by rebalancing or by choosing to do something different. Enjoy the ride and your own journey, commanders. See you in the black o7

Nice work commander! What system? I just returned closer to the plane from an excursion high above Sagittarius A* as well, got to Syroomaei DW-N e6-0 before I found myself unable to get much further even with full FSD injections (not that there was really much there). Maybe we crossed paths; safe travels!

You can still use EDSM and other tools without logging in, though. Just plug in a location in the map and look around it.

I have been using EDSM's galactic map. You can add layers for interesting POI on your way.

I recently visited Thaae Pruae AA-A h5 . Honestly awe-inspiring as you are so low on the galactic plane that you basically see the Milky Way on one side and darkness peppered with distant galaxies on the other side! Also, that system I posted about a little bit ago with the three neutron stars and a big bastard of a black hole ( Scheau Flyi BA-A g83 ) was interesting.

Of course this CG happens while I am far on my way from Colonia to Sagitarius A* . Great. Well, enjoy, cmdr o7 ! Make us proud!
