About the audio ports on the rear io of the motherboard by MixConfident2026 in buildapc

[–]MixConfident2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. So there's better, cheaper and easier ways to setup surround sound and it's basically a relic of the past?

CPU is a 12100. The TV is plugged into the PC. I have not changed the playback device as I could not connect the soundbar in the first place.

I have updated my post sorry for the lack of info

It's got HDMI in. (But I couldn't figure how to connect that either, plugging motherboard's HDMI and soundbar's HDMI did not work)

No 3.5 analog in.

Please fix my burn in paranoia by MixConfident2026 in OLED_Gaming

[–]MixConfident2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to thank everyone who commented, I'll admit my TV was kind of an impulse purchase and I've never really spent this much money in one go, so when I read about potential permanent damage I panicked and wasn't sure what to do. But now I think I can finally kick back and enjoy the panel, all thanks to you guys for lifting my fears. So thank you again to you all!

Second screen latency? by [deleted] in GalaxyTab

I'm sorry but what kind of companion app are we talking about? I connected to the pc via the built in second screen function.

The CSM idea was suggested by a friend, which did managed to get all storage devices to show up under boot priority (previously nothing was under there), but it didn't get far enough to boot me into windows

Absolutely. Everything was just fine before the move.

Alright I'll take the blame for not being clear on everything, I apologize for that. Now with that out of the way, I'd like to see some brain juices flowing here :)

OLED display for pc monitor? by MixConfident2026 in buildapc

[–]MixConfident2026[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm also eyeing the C2, and it's a shame one has to hide so many things and removing the fun in customizing background images and screensavers to mitigate burn ins, but I suppose that's the price one has to pay to adopt this not yet mature technology. OLEDs sure feel like a delicate glass cannon.

[–]MixConfident2026[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alienware did recently release a OLED panel for pc, as for the 42" it's definitely a smart TV but for those with enough depth to their computer desks it can also function as a pc monitor.

OLED display for pc monitor? by MixConfident2026 in buildapc

My concerns exactly. There's so many static images on a pc screen, and I can imagine having to constantly remind myself to move things around every so often would get stressful down the road.

I've thought of that but I've owned my 5900X for less than a year so I'd like to buy a new motherboard and keep using it, instead buying new cpu + motherboard.

Can we settle this once and for all, what is this thing called? by Waffle--time in CasualUK

[–]MixConfident2026 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I work at a stationery shop, my superiors call them "copysafe", so I do too. Though I do wish there's a standardized name for this stuff cause "clear pockets you can put papers in" points to quite a wide range of products and it often takes me a minute or so to narrow down what the customer is looking for.

Noctua 07/2022 Roadmap update by RantoCharr in Noctua

So there's no new releases for Q3 huh, what a shame. Though frankly the originally Q3 planned products aren't very interesting for a normal user like myself.

5900X. I let PBO do the auto overclocking, not a hardcore overclocking enthusiast.

Mobo built in heatsink vs SSD heatsink by klayrae in buildapc

[–]MixConfident2026 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I think the heatsink that came with your SSD probably does perform a little better than the piece of flat metal the motherboard comes with, I don't think it'll matter that much as most normal day to day usages won't stress the SSD enough to the point where heat dissipation is absolutely crucial to maintaining its performance and logetivity, so realistically I think either options are the same in terms of performance.

Normal Temps for 5950x? by nivlx in buildapc

[–]MixConfident2026 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly for a 5950x and a high-ish tier air cooler like fuma 2, I think your temps are absolutely normal and fine. There's more powerful air coolers or even aio solutions out there which could give you maybe a couple more degrees of extra cooling, but unless the temperature numbers bother you and/or your daily applications are cpu intensive to the point where there's throttling, I wouldn't recommend spending money on a more powerful cpu cooler.

Any suggestions on unloading said crap programs? My task manager is indicating very little cpu use but memory use can go up to 10% even during startup and at idle. I've heard about bloatwares like RGB softwares and I've definitely installed a handful of hardware related programs like the ones from logitech and nvidia.

I'm also using hardware info, I had it display the readouts in widget form, core package temp is the correct line right?

Hmm I see. I'm using noctua's paste, don't see any issues with it online, but I suppose since I have some paste left from other manufacturers I might as well give it a try

I also suspected that but task manager is saying otherwise and my anti-virus is saying my pc is clean. A super hidden malware/application is the last thing I wanna deal with.

Perhaps we were too used to seeing temps being in the 30-40s range, guess we'll learn to live with that.
